If GGG KOs Cotto in a one sided beating it will be like the Mayweather Gatti situation where people didn't give Mayweather credit cuz Gatti was a paper champion, but if the fight is competitive and GGG wins he'll get a bit of credit.

Basically he is saying he can fight anybody he chooses and still make plenty of money. So he doesn't have to take the hard fights. Hope Geale beats his sorry ass.

                  Pick on the Small Guy

Amazing how people bash on the guy when he's the smaller man. GGG/Canelo are desperate to have Cotto's name on their resumes and foaming at the mouth. F that, Cotto should say after degale fight "GGG/Canelo" fight each other next and winner gets title shot! I bet that GGG/SC would ***** away from that scenario. The guy is a welterweight at best fighting bigger guys at 160. That takes balls to do and stills get paid (like a BOSS) (A SIDE). That's a smart businessman!

Was he the best MW before Cotto won the title?

Cotto has two potential opponents in the aftermath of this contest.

WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin is the mandatory challenger by way of capturing the WBC interim-title. The most lucrative, and most likely opponent, is Mexican star Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Cotto will likely fight Canelo next, and then make a decision on his future.
