He also fought Tim Bradley and Alvarado at Welter.

Broner was big for 130 but that doesn't change the facts that he jumped three weight classes in a 1 year span.

When he lost to Maidana, I didn't hear any EXCUSES about how Broner wasn't a real Welterweight. Even though it was obvious then and now that he wasn't a true Welterweight.

But JMM fans have used the excuse of blown up lightweight since the Mayweather fight and it gets accepted as fact.

So, Broner is not a genuine welter, but Marquez is ?

He is of average size for a welter. Not huge, average. He could drop to 140 just like Pac and JMM could drop to 135, they're smaller guys. Their frames are smaller, they're shorter, they're arms are half a foot shorter....they're little guys that typically re-hydrate below the WW limit and Floyd 5-10lbs above that. None of them are big welters but Floyd is definitely bigger than those two.

And Marquez moved right back up to welter and looked great against Pacquiao in the third fight. Can't say he was settled into that weight because he had only fought there once before several years ago. In fact, I don't think he ever settled into that weight, but like 154 is for Mayweather, 147 is a place Marquez entertains for money and legacy.

I am not advocating inactivity, but.....

If, for a period of time, say 1 minute..... Manny/Floyd - or whoever - but specifically Manny/Floyd, because you mentioned them..... happened to circle the ring, possibly throwing occasionally, but no real scoring punches land..... I would guarantee you that minute would be correctly awarded to Mayweather.

There was a reason why the offensive-minded Pac did not land 1 punch.

Ring generalship comes into play, who is controlling the pace, who is controlling the ring, who is inflicting his style on the opponent, who is setting traps and walking his opponent into something, etc...... who was cutting off the ring, and who wasnt, also comes into play.

Are you trying to tell me that was Pacs gameplan, and that it was working perfectly for him?
