In fact, I don't think he ever settled into that weight, but like 154 is for Mayweather, 147 is a place Marquez entertains for money and legacy.

    I Agree with the bolded.

I think the weight would always be irrelevant for a Marquez/Pacquiao bout. The two are simply made for each other.

Floyd is so far beyond Pac/Marquez its not even funny anymore.

Agree. Either way, you certainly can't downplay Marquez's loss to Floyd. It was as one-sided as it gets from a guy who hadn't fought in two years.

Not a division one could sleep on Marquez in, even though Pacquiao ended up doing just that.

Not at all i've never downplayed that performance by Floyd. He would have won at any point in their careers regardless of weight. I was speaking of a different topic comparing Broner and Marquez's jump to WW.

I thought Marquez-Bradley was as competitive of an 8-4 fight as you'll ever see, I also wouldn't have minded a rematch, a fight in which Marquez could have done better. Big Timothy Bradley fan too, just being honest.

I'm guessing that JMM is another fighter that wants Floyd to stand still to be hit. Wtf has happened to all the so-called greats of boxing who, when they cannot match skill for skill, complain about someone not letting themselves be hit.

JMM is still one of my favorites, but he has succumbed to delusional impulses.

Yeah I always felt the outcome gets overhyped as it was a very competitive fight. There was definitely no schooling taking place. It was an entertaining fight, at least in my view, but I just couldn't envision him winning a rematch. Unless Bradley decided to be more aggressive and open up more opportunities for counters.

No way this fight happens. There's no point.
