Comments Thread For: Mayweather: I Said Years Ago, Fans Would Call it Boring

WBO/WBC/WBA welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. understands why the boxing public is not pleased with the in-ring action of his mega-fight with Manny Pacquiao.

The two boxers fought in the richest event in boxing history on May 2nd, with Mayweather winning a twelve round unanimous decision. The officials scored it 118-110, 116-112, 116-112.

The fight broke the pay-per-view record that Mayweather set in 2007 for his clash with Oscar De La Hoya, which generated 2.48 million purchases. The PPV with Pacquiao has already brought in 4.4 million buys.

    Yup it was Floyd.

    Boring is an understatement..

More like a dance and running exhibition were in Wile e Kayote was chasing Road runner who strangely learned how to dance with the disco beat and thought he was in dancing with the stars all over again lol

Talk about the old saying,'no guts no glory'

Fans don't give Floyd props because he doesnt have the warriors mentality of a real fighter. People watch boxing to see courage and heart in the ring. True legends of the game have that. Pac has that, sadly Floyd doesn't. Pitty pat shots is what his all about lol

maybe because it was boring. Your own father told you stop fighting scared and let your hands go.

he should have told the fans before the fight, before people paid 100 that the fight was going to be boring,he should have told them to remember when he said it years ago,and not be telling people how it was going to be an exciting fight,of course nobody is going to say that, but don't come here trying to make excuses now,he's starting to sound like pac now with the excuses that he says he's making

People got mad at Canelo for trying to box Mayweather but that's exactly what Pacquiao was trying to do for the most part. On top of that when Mayweather was comfortably ahead, Pacquiao decided that he wasn't gonna push the issue. It's pretty obvious Pac was to blame.
