might not be easy the first early rounds but once porter is 100% drained out its over.

Porter recently been struggling to make 147, having to completely strip down to make weight now he has to go 4lbs south of that to make the weight on this bout and can only rehydrate to 154 when correct me if I am wrong he rehydrates to 160+

The crossroads bout between former titlists from Ohio will air live in primetime on free-to-air NBC. In supporting televised action, rising unbeaten prospect Errol Spence faces veteran Roberto Garcia.

Of the four televised fighters, Spence (16-0, 13KOs) is the only one to not yet appear in primetime on a PBC event. The 2012 U.S. Olympian fought on the non-televised undercard of the April 11 PBC on NBC show, stopping Samuel Vargas in four rounds at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

      Excellent !

      Could be a great fight.

Very difficult style for Broner to contend with, especially considering the problems he had at 147 with Maidana.

Broner will also pose problems for Porter, considering the problems he had when facing Brook.

I really like this fight, and quite difficult to pick.

In fact, if Porter gets the KO, he might just hop over Thurman and Kell Brook, for a shot a Mayweather. I feel bad for Thurman, because there's no one for him to fight in June, that would make everyone want to see him fight Floyd. All Thurman can do is pray for Algeri and Broner to win!
I agree with you, but fcuk them honestly.

EVERYBODY had time to position themsleves for that final Mayweather payday.

It appears that most contenders at 147 were hoping to land that payday by default..... by being the last man standing, because others fell whilst taking a risk to land that same payday.

Nobody took the bull by the horns.

Brook and Thurman grabbed one horn, but they failed to follow up and distance themselves fom the rest of the pack.

        Khan wasnt Brooks only option.

maybe, JUST MAYBE because Las Vegas is a way bigger $$$tage than Ohio?

Broner will not get full credit if he beats Porter, and nor should he.

If you're a casual boxing fan and mildly know these two guys this is an awesome fight. If you follow boxing a little more closely as most of is do the 3 lbs Porter is giving up is going to cost him dearly. He knows the cards are stacked against him here and he had to take the fight for the money and exposure. And that fight is a huge gamble for Porter. Not to mention the 11-lb rehydration clause.

The only winner in the negotiations is Broner and Haymon.

I hope I'm wrong with my prediction and everything I just said, I rarely am and don't think I will be here.

Not sure what the penalty is but if I were Porter I'd cheat Broner on the scales.

Broner would probably have the fight cancelled.
fighters shouldnt be able to rehydrate more than 10 lbs imo...fight in your regular weight classes then cw's are so bad imo..tired of these i need the size advantage boxers..screwing up the name of the CW..

money, to be simple about it.

Ignoring whether the fight is held in Cinncinatti(Broner) or Cleveland(Porter), how much money actually gets brought in for the gate of Broner-Porter? And how does that compare to the site fee that is likely offered by the MGM Grand to host the fight?

Broner-Taylor was Broner's homecoming headlining fight in Cincinnati and brought in short of $350k at the gate; Porter-Brook was Porter's only headlining show and those numbers are a bit tougher to come by (not sure why).

The MGM offering up a $1m site fee likely *****s whatever gate Porter and Broner could drum up locally (and shifts the burden of pushing tickets to the MGM Grand), if we're honest about it.

You add that Broner-Porter is headlining one of the five primetime NBC telecasts, and you put the fight on the best looking stage in your sphere (Barclays Center, MGM Grand, Bell Centre, Staples Center [if AEG is open for it], etc)
