Whoops I see that Hearns had hand issues prior to this fight as well. Don't mind me, I'm an uncultured boxing noob.

Pacquiao had been taking Celestone (Betamethasone) during training and wanted to for the fight. It's a banned substance on the WADA list because it opens respiratory pathways.

I have no doubt about the legitimacy of the injury. We all read the reports a few weeks out that Pacquiao was sparring one handed. But, that doesn't equate to an injury being the reason why he lost. Finding an athlete the wrong side of 35 that isn't carrying one into competition is likely an exception. . . I understand that reverting to external reasons for defeat protects a fighters ego it's bad sportsmanship and lacks dignity.

>V.Webb:
Had this been a comparable fight for Pacquiao as JMM was for Mayweather the same thing probably would have happened (aka postponement). For Floyd to have faced an injury significant enough to cause a fight delay and turn around and act like injuries don't change anything is bush league.
