Sure he has tried to get some fights, but there is a difference between going out and making something occur for himself or waiting for something to fall into his lap. Golovkin has been content to sit and wait to let something fall into his lap, I get why it is happening but with no one else is that anywhere close to cool.
Fights that don't happen are fights that don't happen you don't get credit for them just because they didn't take place.
His team, maybe he should find a new team~
I don't get how you consider him to just be sitting around when he's as active as he is against the best willing. Total opposite of the majority of fighters in the past decade. That's why he stays in the good grace of most people.
When Golovkin had a dispute with Universum, rather than sit and pout like Ward he went and fought in Panama for next to nothing.
Bernard Hopkins, who I was tremendous fan of during his run, would often sit & b*tch until a golden opportunity would fall into his lap. During his run prior to Holmes, he only ever fought 3 Ring top 10 MW's -JDJ (a very dubious ranking!), Allen, and Echols. He nearly refused to fight Echols because he thought he should be earning a million dollars for it, instead was fighting for around $200k on Fox Sports. If the IBF hadn't mandated the fight he would've sat out. After Trinidad he nearly committed career suicide turning down multiple big fights and getting sued by former promoter DiBella & his own trainer.
As a fan of both Hopkins & Golovkin, both have brought me a ton of frustration but for different reasons. With Gennady it's because he hasn't been able to land the top opponents because they don't want to fight him. With Hopkins it was because his own crazy paranoia that people were trying to screw him over.

Right now GGG is best 160 in the world, it has a little to do with his record but it has more to do with Methods & Techniques!
His Methodology is to avoid judges opinions, his techniques are geared for tko & KO.
To me he is refreshing as hell in a boxing world filled with cherrypickers and counter move/counter punch guys who fight "cautiously" another word for lack of confidence.
You know where he's going at the bell and until someone steps up and derails him he's the Middleweight Champ and anyone who dismisses him knows very little about this sport & business.
The haters aren't use to seeing a guy who has destuction on his mind or they fear him because their next "favorite" might face him.
Action fighter, how unique!
Ray.
