Ward has said he's willing to fight Golovkin, Golovkin has said he's willing to fight Ward... there also seems to be general agreement that the fight will be significantly bigger somtime in the future and both guys have unfinished business;- Ward in court and GGG within his own division.

Naturally it's a risky fight for both guys and neither is likely to want to take it on the cheap: so it'll happen when it happens, but I'd be very surprised if we see any movement on this until 2016 at the earliest.

maybe it's team GGG with their "we'll fight anyone from 154 to 168" statement that should keep their mouths shut

He wasn't talking about anyone. He was talking about Ward's lay-off and that as his trainer, he'd ideally like him to shake off the rust. He then says Andre himself would be willing to jump straight into a big fight. Golovkin's name wasn't even mentioned at that point.
I did skim through that dialogue - it isn't exactly what I would call a riveting read - so if you can find the links, please do post them so I can look at it again.

I know Golovkin wasn't mentioned by name when Virgil was talking about Andre needing a couple of tune-ups, but it was obviously GGG he was thinking about when he said that.

The only other alternative would be that they are considering using GGG to tune-up for an even bigger fight. Maybe the one Ward has been avoiding for over 3 years now, against Carl Froch in the UK? Another example of Andre cleverly manipulating the boxing media to make it seem like his opponent is the reason a fight doesnt happen, rather than - whatever the heck it is that's kept him from fighting anybody for so long.

Andre is as slippery, devious and deceptive outside the ring as he is inside it. His boxing ability is not his only wasted talent. If President ***** put him in charge of dealing with the North Koreans, that tin-pot dictator would be tearing his ridiculous bouffant hair out by the roots inside 6 months and ringing ***** begging for a restoration of normal diplomatic relations!

*'We're open to offers from' / 'we're wiling to fight anyone'

Why? It's a perfectly legitimate statement. They merely invited offers They didn't say they would automatically accept any offer that was thrown their way, however good or bad it might be. In fact from the very start it was made clear that they were only really interested in big money fights outside of MW.

The 'I'll fight anyone' statement by boxers is so commonplace as to have been rendered banal (hell, even Ward has said it), yet for some reason it's got certain posters up in arms as if Loeffler / Golovkin is kinda running some huge scam on the boxing public by not immediately doing everything in his power to pursue a bout against Ward (despite the validity of the reasons for waiting).

I dont understand how people can seriously defend GGG unless you have his nutsacks deep down your throat. He is WILLING to fight chavez jr at 168 for no belts, but wont fight ward for the 168 lbs LINEAL TITLE!?

              "different divisions doe"

"whos ward doe whens the da last time he fought doe"

              blah blah blah

Again, HES WILLING TO FIGHT CHAVEZ JR FOR NOT TITLE, BUT WON'T FIGHT WARD FOR THE LINEAL TITLE!!!!

I say Ward can grow a pair and leave 168 in pursuit of more high dollar fights at 175. I'm telling you GGG will eventually go up to 168. GGG has more to lose as time goes on with postponing his jump to 168, so idk why Ward fans are so adamant about him moving up immediately.
stop using bs excuses. Hes almost as old as cotto and cotto fights naturally, at 154 lbs, TWO divisions ABOVE where he started. GGG is still in the same division.

Golovkin should avoid moving up to fight Ward of all people, it's a big risk and could set him back for a long time and ruin his "marketability"

This isnt ducking, it's about making business sense and making sure TripleG is at his best both as a sportsman and career wise if he does ever face Ward

                  No need to rush
So you are implying that if GGG goes up and fights ward, hell get "exposed" and his marketability goes down and thats the reason for him not to move up and fight? Thats called a duck!

Or you forgot when they asked GGG about ward:

                  "No. Too much. Too soon."

That's cause you're a proven dumba$$. Team Chavez sent an offer, lucrative, for ppv. Ward sent nothing, says send me an offer but I'm the A side lol
