GGG still hasn't even sold out MSG on his own yet while Canelo has sold massive seats in San Antonio and Vegas.

if casual americans run the boxing ppvs then floyd shouldnt have a problem going against canelo and cotto on that date, but i see many of his fans very insecure about that...
lol, floyd wears the mexicans colors and fights on mexican hollidays for no reason...
This is a ploy by ODLH, Arum and Canelo to maximize profits at the expense of the American market. This is the USA and we don't celebrate Mexican, French, Russian, Denmark or Swedish holidays, We celebrate AMERICAN holidays in the USA. Non-indigenous peoples who have migrated to the USA maintain their heritage, celebrations and holidays, as is expected. But, this is still America and Mexican holidays have NO relevance what-so-ever.
As Big Dunn stated, if Canelo were sincere and unaffected by under-handed motivations, he would celebrate Cinco Di Mayo\Mexican Independence at a MEXICAN venue, where he can maximize the event and unite the people who celebrate the holiday -- Not try to bogart the MGM in Las Vegas, Nevada USA

How exactly does fighting in Las Vegas on that weekend/day help celebrate this holiday?
Wouldn't it make more sense if he fought in Mexico, as close to Puebla as possible, to celebrate?
the mgm gets sold out by mexicans every time canelo fights, its mainly mexicans that buy his ppvs...

Canelo is not a US citizen. He wasn't born in the US. Why is he celebrating a Mexican holiday outside of his native Mexico? That's like celebrating 4th of July outside the US.
As for Mexican Americans celebrating the holiday-that's fine. But they are Americans living in the US, Canelo is not. I'm sure the MGM will do well when Canelo fights.
I wish you and others would just stop the charade and be honest about why you want Canelo/cotto to be on this day and not another Floyd fight. then we could have a real debate and move the issue forward.

UK fans Travel across the Pond to Support, the Atmosphere at Mayweather vs Hatton weigh in still give me CHILLS, that was a lot of UK fans who made that Trip to Support their Fighter.
Also look at the Turnout for Froch vs Groves II?
Respect to PR fans also well, the Turnovers for Cotto during PR Day Weekend is always amazing so NO DOUBT that fan base is Top 5!Last edited by sicko; 12-22-2014, 03:44 PM.

So this guy says the holiday is just for Mexicans but he wants to call shots on American soil. Why not fight in Mexico.
Are Pacquiao fans really willing to miss out on the fight to appease Canelo? .. this is not about Mexico, this is Canelo still stinging from losing to Floyd, taking the date its his revenge victory.
If it was truly about Mexico then how come none of the Mexican legends in the past made a fuss about this, Floyd has been fighting in the same month for how many years now.
Oscar said hes willing to move and hes a certified Mexican- American legend. Bob Arum is backing Canelo because hes still hurt over Floyd dumping him as promoter
Do people really believe Arum when he had no problem making Pacquiao/ Hatton and Pacquiao/ Mosley in May.
Pacquiao/ Vargas is what you guys will be looking forward to if you justify Canelos sissy fit. Wasn't Algieri horrible enough.
I'm cool with Floyd/Khan as plan b.Last edited by elishua F; 12-22-2014, 03:57 PM.
