Forget what Iole said, Cotto's team just said he can fight anyone.

Oscar de la Hoya, president of Golden Boy Promotions, insists that the Alvarez side has agreed to all terms and that the only thing left is for Cotto and his team to follow suit.

In recent weeks, de la Hoya has also: offered to put up a record-breaking purse in order to secure the rights for a long-awaited showdown with Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao; has suggested that the winner of this weekend***8217;s showdown between Amir Khan and Devon Alexander is next in line for a shot at Mayweather; insisted that an all-British bout between Khan and Kell Brook is ***8220;Plan B***8221; in the event that Khan doesn***8217;t land Mayweather, and that such a fight would draw 100,000 fans.

Lol @ Oscar De La Hoya for going to Arum to trie to solve an impasse in the negotiations when todd and Gaby are the ones that are negotiating on behalf of Cotto. That leads me to believe Cotto wont stand back on his numerous demands that are likely to be 55-60% of the split, the ppv named Cotto-Canelo, a % of the gate money, possibly the venue and defenetly his guranteed since I beeen hearing he is looking for 15 mil atleast on the guranteed side.

And that is the rude awakening. Go Cotto!

Mr. Jake Donovan's article reminds me (again) of the thread I started here on 09-10-2014:

Cotto vs Canelo/ Pacman vs Floyd is all I want. Those 2 fights need to happen point blank period

I said it before, Canelo will give in to ridiculous demands not because he is the B-side but because he wants the legacy.

That said, I am sure that will be a motivating factor in the way the fight will play out. Canelo is going to try to punish this guy, and if he does, he will get no credit

I know, but the guys at that level are divas. So I'm not holding my breath until they're in the ring(s)

It's basically Cotto and his lawyer/advisor Gaby Pengarcino(sp), working with Todd DuBoef at Top Rank. If the fight doesn't involve Top Rank, Cotto/Gaby go elsewhere.
