Mayweather is better than Marquez, but will do much worst against Pacquaio.

It's the mentally. Marquez and mayweather have totally different mindsets in the ring. Marquez is an offensive counter puncher while mayweather is very defensive.
Marquez threw accurate combinations when pac was throwing his own combinations. Mayweather's 1st instinct when he gets attacked is to cover up or shoulder roll and then he works his counters 1 shot at a time when he knows there;s no risk. Against a fast combination puncher like pac with quick feet he will find it hard to come out of that shell if he lets pac get off first.

“Ever since I watch Floyd Mayweather he gives you a defense where he locks up. And a lot of the time obviously it works for Floyd. Floyd is very hard to hit, regardless of the fact. But I always thought that somebody with fast hands – that throws punches in bunches and throws them in flurries – might not land on Floyd – because he locks up so well – he has the ability to leave Floyd there.”
Malignaggi’s analysis starts to fascinate. “And what I mean by that is, move your hands, step out, you leave him there. Throw punches, step out. Before you know it, Floyd, if he’s giving you all this, he never gets the chance to get back off. Because you’re in and out. And that costs you rounds. Through the course of Mayweather’s career, he’s always been faster than most of his opponents. But the fast guys that he did fight did show glimpses of it. Oscar showed glimpses of that. Zab Judah showed glimpses of that – that you can do that to Floyd. The problem is you very rarely will hit him clean. So I think these guys get frustrated and get away from that. But in the meantime, what they don’t realize is that they’re probably winning rounds because Floyd is not getting off. Pacquiao doesn’t have to change anything about himself. He fights that way naturally.” - Paulie Malignaggi.

It shocks and sickens me that you have this many posts. I have come to realize a lot of posters here can get up to 4000+ posts without actually talking once about boxing's technical aspects. Prove my opinion sucks by thoughtfully writing out a informative and eye opening paragraph to counter mine. Or you can simply post a 'DID NOT READ' gif. That seem to be more suited to your particular levels of boxing intellect.

To me, Manny's best gameplan for the win is to take the gas off the pedal and become a counter puncher. Set a trap and hit FMJ with something big. Try to get him out early. No your limitations. Manny's jab is weak. So bait FMJ to counter that jab and then attack. I honestly do not believe Manny has the patience to fight someone like FMJ and win, but if Arum finally has the heart to make the fight. We will see.

Pac just has to be himself. I'm telling you pac's style is all wrong for mayweather and they know it or else they would have fought pac a long time ago.Last edited by TRTboy; 12-01-2014, 08:36 PM.
