I was a huge fan of Mayweather from the Olympics right up to the point he fought Oscar. But then he changed. He said in the fight buildup that someone has to be the bad guy and he chose that role. Problem is it snowballed and he became that person more and more. The things he said about how if his opponent was in prison he would get ****d and other crude talk that does not belong in a fight buildup, flipped the switch for me. Floyd went to unacceptable levels in trash talk. Floyd is a simpleton and a hypocrite and a racist. It's one thing when someone appreciates his in the ring sklls, it is another thing with pinhead fanboys defend his indefensible bad behavior day in and day out as if he is their God.

Is no longer being a Floyd Mayweather fan a sign of maturity?

A damn boxing match that has yet to happen has created a whole damn religion!!! damn i cant wait until they retire; it was nice watching them both and they are both ATG but the fan rivalry this created and the hate for men who are masters of their craft was a low point in humanity... and has caused friction and strife into the lives of men who simply love the sport... just know that all that negative energy u put out will eventually return to you and u will feel what u made others feel double!!!!

No, this is a really dumb thread, it's cringe worthy. Maturity has nothing to do with being a fan of a boxer. To even suggest this is beyond foolish. Why can't people just focus on what fighters do in the ring? Judging people that you don't know is just ******.

If you do a background check on my circa 2007-2008 posting days, you will notice me to be a Floyd fan. A nuthugger if you will. I was in my early 20's, heck I even listened to Hardcore Rap. My grammar also wasn't up to snuff. But things have changed. You know - as you get older you get wiser, get a better job, your politics change slightly as well. And so on and so forth.
But what about the new generation of Floyd fans? Are they just a bunch of degenerates stuck on being permanently ****** or what? A bunch of E-criminals and E-thugs with a slight touch of Afrocentrism. Do we blame the rise of Social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram as well as smarthphones) for this dumbification? We probably have 40 year old Floyd fans on here who cannot be distinguished from the 20 year old ones.
What sociopolitical factors are there to consider?
Discuss.
Now, I am a fan of many boxers, Mayweather included. I have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a Master's in solid state devices. I don't believe I'm an idiot, and I don't believe that others would describe me as being ******.
In conclusion Floyd has all types of fans; people who are not educated, 'nuthuggers', boxing fans, non-boxing fans, doctors, lawyers etc.
Let's just leave it at that because it is totally unreasonable to try to link intelligence to being a fan of Floyd Mayweather.

I hardly read a post defending his bad behavior day and day out as if he is their God. Maybe you have Pacfarts in your mind.

Well, I know 35-65 year olds who are Floyd fans, have families, don't listen to "hardcore rap"(actually hate any kind of hip hop), have a job, aren't African American, and also like other boxers like JMM, Pacquiao, Wladimir, but acknowledge Floyd is the best. My dad is a 61 year old who owns his own business, he put me on to Floyd basically
I think, if you just like the sport of boxing for what it is and stop grouping boxers together with a type of music, a style of clothing, color of skin, or certain demographics, you'll accept that Floyd has boxing fans from different backgrounds, IQ, and social statuses, poor class, middle class, wealthy, 1%'ers.
In MLB forums, you can love Ken Griffey Jr and not get accused of being a thug/n----r/degenerate/welfare resident/project inhabitant or whatever label silly boxing fans like to put on each other because of what boxer they like.

I don't really consider myself a "Floyd fan" but to not appreciate what he does in the ring would be doing yourself a disservice. Its great to watch Floyd fight, it sucks to hear him talk but I wasn't into boxing hugely (aside from Pacquiao) back when he was Pretty Boy.
