Is no longer being a Floyd Mayweather fan a sign of maturity?

To me I think it's okay to not like a great fighter or an ATG as long as you acknowledge their accomplishments and their talent. It's like being a fan or a hater of a sports team. It's okay to like or a hate a team as long as you can look at it objectively and admit when a team is great or not. Same thing with boxing. It's okay to hate Floyd or any other boxer for that matter as long as you can admit and say that their good. So it's okay to root against Floyd but when you say "oh he sucks" or something along those lines, then you lose points as a boxing fan.

Acknowledge greatness but you don't have to root for it.

I guess I must be extra immature if I support both...

I like floyds boxing style and I dont find it boring like other haters claim, and in fantasy land that would be the style Ill prefer if i am boxer, with the hopes of more power though, like when floyd was at 130lbs. All the BS he pulls though requires maturity to see and accept them. Every time a pac fan or any other fan says something bad about floyd, floyd fans would respond with, more often than not, "what about when pac did this and this and that" and they would just overlooked the point the other person was making, and act like it wasnt even written. It takes maturity and honesty to say, " yeah floyd did this bs move and i really hate it too", and then argue back. I am a pac fan, but i wouldnt defend his algieri move for christ sakes.

No it doesn't especially when you become a obsessive b1tch after the fact. A mature person doesn't cry about the actions of someone they are not a fan of that what females do. But that would explain the b1tch behavior of majority of this board. A mature person doesn't take time out of there day write about someone they dislike that what female does sit around gossip once again actions of a b1tch.

To not be able to appreciate Floyd's extraordinary skills due to his persona outside of the ring is the reason boxing fans are a dying breed. As Nas said in "Ether" y'all (dudes) deal with emotions like bittches....
For me, when you´re fan of a boxer (In this case), that guy is also a kind of role-model. You can´t be fan of a guy that is the opposite to you in terms of values and principles.
Recognize the talent of a guy and see his fights, for the love of the sport, is a totally different thing.

I disagree with the responsibly of a role model that people place on every athlete. It's unfair to them and to anyone who actually raises their children properly. Floyd is a rich as$hole who does not look to be anyone's role model. He seems to be a good father and that's all that matter. Just cuz you're a rich athlete, that doesn't obligate u to be a model citizen, community leader or role model. And just bcuz a person doesn't share similar values as you doesn't mean u can't be a fan.

                  Floyd is the A-Side.

He might be a "role model" for the ****** lumpens -- which may be a cultural and/or business choice... Because the ****** lumpens, themselves, are also entitled to share a particular image of the "American Dream"...

Boxing fans do not need to act smart or mature. Some of the dumbest people follow boxing.
