Ring generalship and defensive skill are way down in order of importance when it comes to scoring pro fights. It's all about clean punches landed. I'm cool with that, actually. What gets me is the "effective aggression" aspect. That one is always a point of contention. Some guys swear you're fulfilling that criteria simply by moving forward and swinging. Drives me nuts.

It's tough to catch things like sarcasm in writing sometimes. It's getting late and it's been a long, stressful stretch of time for me lately. My apologies.

got no way of confirming or denying this, heard in a restaurant in lv today that the fight and result played as they were supposed to do, Lara is well off and will get other fights, a couple of days of complaining-part of the show-and then back home, under no circumstance would canelo get ko'd, even if he got kd or hurt, Lara would still run and let him be, life goes on.

That brings up another issue I had with Lara's performance. He had many, many opportunities to open up and fire off combos. When he did, he landed beautifully...beautifully! But he had many more opportunities where he made Canelo miss, but didn't make him pay. As I mentioned before, in the pro game you don't get much credit for simply making your opponent whiff. But judges tend to notice if your opponent keeps pressing the action and you don't do much in return. The fact is, Saul pressed the action all night; while Lara was content to make him miss, land the occasional 1-2 and take the occasional hard body shot. That makes for close cards...and maddening losses against a cash cow.

Sit there and keep crying baby girl.

I just meant to debate a little on the fight and why everybody keeps saying Lara won but needed to do more, which is why he lost. All of this is miniscule compared to everyday life, too much stuff to deal with daily -- so keep your head up, hombre. WAR RIGO!!!!
