You can't be serious calling Lewis another class of fighter then Holyfield based on a fight when Holyfield was far from prime. The Evander who fought Tyson twice and Bowe the first 2 times would of given Lennox hell if not whooped him.
Lennox was a Damn good fighter but he peaked at the wrong time. I think if he peaked in the early 90's and was able to fight Tyson and Holyfield in their primes And Foreman, it would of said more about him.
There were two fights between the Tyson fights and the Lewis fight. Holyfield would have whooped Lewis then but not two fights later?
Lennox would have destroyed Foreman easily. If Tommy Morrison and Evander Holyfield could beat Foreman, if Foreman struggled with Briggs and Moorer, how the hell is he going to beat Lennox? Axel Scultz ****ing beat Foreman!
By Foreman's own admission, he wanted absolutely no part of Lennox.
As for Holyfield? Yeah, he was good, earlier versions of Holyfield were lighter and not as strong though, a feature Holyfield utilised against Lennox.
And Rid**** is the ultimate example WHY Hoylfield would lose to Lennox. He was soundly beaten in the 1st, and whatever was wrong with him, he was beaten by a fat Bowe in the 3rd. In the 2nd fight I don't think it was a very CLEAR win for Holyfield.
In short I don't think Holyfield ever convincingly beat Bowe.
Lennox was the Grade A HW of the 90's, people wanted to fight Holyfield for a reason, they did NOT want to fight Lennox! Ask Golota, Golota had Grant beaten and actually threw the fight in the last round in my opinion in order NOT to face Lennox again. LOL
I am sorry but your statement wasn't real bright. Holyfield went evens with Michael Moorer. An opponent LL would just blow out in a round.
I agree, Bowe gave Holyfield HELL in victory or defeat. He was just tough for Holyfield to beat. And the trilogy proved that.
