I think this article is great, even if there is some speculation involved. At this point what else can we do but speculate? By the way, see for even more info on this situation. Most knew that there was more to the story than Schaeffer not wanting to work with Arum. Thanks to Mr. Hauser we now have a little more insight into the matter. Oh, so Haymon and Schaeffer were trying to buy out Oscar? Hm. Makes sense now. Anyone calling this trash journalism should try reading the bias nut-huggery they publish on floyd-hype.com, then you will realize that this article is a breathe of fresh air.

The author of this article and the people on here talking bad about Haymon don't know a thing about Haymon......it's that simple......the author talks about laws Haymon 'might' be breaking and shady things he 'could' be doing but other than that the 'indirect' accusations are a bunch of bologne.......sure it was informative but mostly relating to boxing, not much of Haymon, even though the investigative effort is appreciated and the article was well written.....personally what I notice is that all his fighters seem to be gettin payed just fine, i mean back in the day i've read stories of Ken Norton havin 30 fights on his record and not one dollar in his bank account, stories of boxers getting paid a few hundred dollars for ten rounds, Joe Louis retiring broke, Sugar Ray Robinson broke, and so many more.....Lara in 22 fights is the main event on ppv and gettin payed well, Swift (headline in big shows and co-main event on ppv), Matthysse (co-main event on ppv), Arreola (headlined big title fight), John Molina (went from ESPN to Showtime and had a great fight vs Matthysse), Broner (main event vs Maidana, been on ppv), Maidana (going on his second ppv in a row), Austin Trout (on the main even of a PPV) Luis Collazo is a perfect example (signed with Al and fought on ppv)..........the people that work for Al Haymon, get payed by Al Haymon, and know Al Haymon speak great about him and the people that don't know a thing about Al Haymon and have only seen maybe 1 or 2 pictures of him on the internet only talk bad about Al Haymon.........almost forgot to mention Floyd Mayweather is the richest athlete in the world and works with Al HaymonLast edited by St. Johns Gent; 07-07-2014, 08:43 AM.

why does Hauser call Haymon "scary smart?" Haymon has 2 degrees from Harvard same as ARum. Is Arum scary smart?
Hauser, as with the rest of the boxing extablishment, have decided the smear campaign is the best way to chip away at the power Haymon has amassed. WHy not just build a better business model?
Sorry, but all this reads is sour g****s over a new face amassing power in the sport-and NO, the problem isn't because Haymon is an "outsider". The fact tht he may get all those NBCsports dates and some on the main network tells me why Kathy Duva has been so critical.
AL still deserves criticism for being a small part of the crap ODH/GBP have coming August 9th. After that I hope he uses his stable and ability to get dates to put together great fights on a consistent basis. If he doesn't, then he will rightly deserve criticism.

It's a great article and I don't think there is anyone that does it better in boxing than Hauser. I think the smart posters recognize that those "lawsuits" are likely to fail and that, in spite of the insinuations, there really isn't anything negative to say about Haymon. He makes fighters money and gives them exposure. Oh the horror.

Haymon wants to become the dana white of boxing and full control, he must be stopped or else the end of the sport will happen

Hauser is the best investigative boxing writer in the sport, hands down.
I found the 20 million $ worth of airtime that Haymon wwNts to buy from NBC VERY interesting.
That's a huge investment, the guys that we as fans see as stars, aren't stars to the average sports fan. We have already seen the difference in ratings between hbo and Showtime, Showtime just can't mimic what hbo can do.
Now Haymon wants to buy up airtime to showcase his fighters, and sell the ad space himself. Now this is coming from a guy who has Floyd under his control, the biggest name in the sport, and this guy has NO SPONSORS! Now he is going to sell 20 million $ worth of ad space?
That will be interesting if it happens, that's really the biggest revalation in this article. clearly shows Haymon is desperate to air time.
Even the UFC on regular TV has been a bust, ratings have plummeted.
