Any doubt they will be fighting Salka type competition?
I would hope not, but I wouldn't be surprised. The New Breeders happily tolerate "crap" fights, contentedly supporting the Haymon/TMT agenda...so the sheep get fed first. **** what the true fans would demand...let them starve.

Boxrec shows Lucas Martin Matthysse ranked #2 in the light welterweight division. Adrien Broner is ranked #6. It doesn't fit the Haymon agenda to have two fighters in the top 10 face each other. Gotta keep the sheep happy to see the stars "...be gettin' PAID doe."

So I wouldn't be surprised if their TBAs are broke back miners ranked somewhere between 50-100, like Rod Salka (ranked #78 in the lightweight division) helping the #1 light welterweight GET PAID!

What's the Commonality with Anakin, Lord Sidious, Sosa & Floyd/TMT?

I notice a curious & peculiar similarity, drawn in the minds of New Breeders and Floydiots, between Anakin/Darth Vader & Lord Sidious from Star Wars, Sosa from Scarface, and Floyd/TMT. Does anyone else see it?

First, here are NOI's comments, from posts #3 & #13:

I swear this reads like the plot of Star Wars. Now all we have to do is wait for Haymon to form his ufc like model for boxing and come out at the AEG arena like Lord Sidious and announce the "First Galactic Empire."

I love it. Much like Anakin from star wars Haymon is bringing balance to boxing one way or another.

Then we have the comment by Aware, post #244

      Aware
This article reminds me of the scene in Scarface where Sosa shows Tony that news report that exposes himself. Sosa has a smirk on his face - a combination of self glorification and concern. That's Haymon in this article. It depicts Haymon as a manipulative genius, a genius nevertheless. That's the same smirk on Haymon's face.

Notice the similarity? NOI's and Aware's analogies compare Senor Hymen to being like Anakin/Darth Vader, Lord Sidious and Sosa...who are WHAT in the movies?

      Anyone?

      Anyone?

Here's a giveaway multiple choice hint: In movies there's always a Protagonist and an Antagonist. So again, what are they in the movies that these New Breeders find Haymon analogous to?

      Anyone? Anyone?

Yes, they're THE BAD GUYS!!! They're the movie's bad guys, the antagonists in the films! And Floyd builds his promotion on being THE BAD GUY, which Floydiots embrace, celebrate and "Respect" because of his "Money, Power..." Why do you think that is?

Google has clued me into the slogan "Money, Power, Respect" as having its origin from the Hip Hop community, but what other societal changes or influences have risen in this world to create this New Breeder mentality? I'll admit I don't have a psychology or sociology degree, but common sense helps me to make my armchair conclusions. I just think it would be fun to hear from other NSB members what their opinions are. Feel free to chime in.

On another note, I also find it curiously funny how "MONEY, POWER, RESPECT" is the TMT slogan. What was it again, from the traditional saying based from biblical verse, that is said to be "...The Root of All Evil"???

Funny how the New Breeders embrace that slogan, buying up that TMT gear...and root for THE DARK SIDE to take over boxing, finding it analogous to Darth & Lord Sidious taking over the Galactic Empire, to Sosa taking over & monopolizing the drug trade, and Floyd's Hymen imposing the Hymen/TMT agenda in boxing.

Is all of that just an unfortunate coincidental characteristic of the New Breed mentality? Why is that so?

      Think about it.

      'Nuff said.

P.S.--While surfing the TV channels, I saw that the ABC Family channel was having a Harry Potter movie marathon (#PotterheadWeekend). Here's another, more exemplary movie series that New Breeders can further identify with & prove the roots of their analogies. So, for a new poll question:

Who do you find Al Haymon/TMT analogous to?

      A. "The Dark Lord" Voldemort / any one of the other movies' antagonists
      B. Harry / Dumbledore / any one of the other movie's protagonists

I found the 20 million $ worth of airtime that Haymon wwNts to buy from NBC VERY interesting.

That's a huge investment, the guys that we as fans see as stars, aren't stars to the average sports fan. We have already seen the difference in ratings between hbo and Showtime, Showtime just can't mimic what hbo can do.

Now Haymon wants to buy up airtime to showcase his fighters, and sell the ad space himself. Now this is coming from a guy who has Floyd under his control, the biggest name in the sport, and this guy has NO SPONSORS! Now he is going to sell 20 million $ worth of ad space?

That will be interesting if it happens, that's really the biggest revalation in this article. clearly shows Haymon is desperate to air time.

Even the UFC on regular TV has been a bust, ratings have plummeted.

I agree with this. This NBC deal is dicey for Haymon. He needs to find a network that has more viewers than HBO, and NBC certainly does. But Haymon doesn't have to pay Showtime to put his boxers on the air, Showtime pays the fighters. With NBC, Haymon would actually have to invest tens of millions of his own money in the talent he's accumulating, and some of those guys have records that advertisers don't want to be a part of.

On top of that, advertisers want their commercials to run during fights featuring compelling names that viewers are tuning in to see. They don't want their commercials running during a lull between bouts because all the fights are mismatches that are ending in a round or two.

If Haymon gets on NBC, he can't roll out some crappy ShoBox quality card where some "name" beats up on a no-hoper to build his record. If he gets on NBC, he's going to have to put on big main events.
