Top Rank has not had bad undercards. Problem is the main events have been duds and people are looking back and blaming the undercard for when the PPV doesn't sell. There are fighters and matchups there that hardcore fans know of but casual fans won't care for.

It's obvious their stars are fading. Who's gonna watch Cotto again. Whose gonna watch Pac fight someone other than Marquez.

This is a natural regression and the law of diminishing returns. You have to build up young stars again and start from scratch.

This is definitely not the first time I've heard about Pacquiao not wanting Donaire on his cards. I don't know what the beef is there, but I'm curious.

i dont even… so since Manny already maximises the revenue from the Filipino fan base, then no other Filipino boxer is worthy enough to be placed on the same undercard? Wow. I mean, sure the casual fans fork over the biggest bucks to the Promotional Companies but that doesn't mean undercards should be garbage. In my opinion placing elite/competitive matches as an undercard for a PPV will signify quality and will only cause the "casual fans" to more willingly fork over their cash, and more importantly, attract new customers and fans along the way. When companies can show consistency in their quality product, customers are happy... and so they will willingly persuade more sheep into the slaughter. Also, for us hardcore boxing fans that tend to debate over which PPV to order(since the over saturation of such events can strain some of our pockets), the answer seems clearer when we happen to see the entire card.

+ Good Main Event
Possibly New loyal fans

If he really thinks Donaire on the undercard does not bolster PPV sales then he's absolutely clueless and shouldn't be anywhere near the discussion when it comes to making decisions.

Whilst Donaire won't boost filipino sales, there's the small matter of the rest of the f***ing world to consider. Boxing fans around the globe would chomp at the bit for a card with both Donaire and Pacquiao in it. There's a good portion who may just leave it be if it is only 1 or the other if Pacquiao isn't matched up with a megastar (and Marquez ain't it).

honestly it dont who out there is gonna pay for it because donaire is on the ppv that would not have paid to see pac anyway? Honestly it dont bring in more buys imo they have the same fan base almost entirely. Its just like broner who would paid see him that would not already be paying to see floyd

I think they made it clear that Pac wants all the limelight of the Filipino audience. It would be a better undercard with Donaire on it. But if there's another good fighter and opponent on there, bring it on. Ain't holding my breath though.
