You are trying to argue that black boxers dont get hyped even when they are known to the public? You automatically lose if that is the case. (Mayweather, Judah, Roy Jones, Lennox Lewis)

If you are arguing abotu the up and coming ones that arent known to a majority of the public, then you automatically lose because that was what my post was about.

Either way you lose. Which is quite fitting, given your rep as a LOSER.

Exige. Your favourite phrase seems to be "you lose". That grows tiresome . Especially when you have strayed far, FAR from the point. You seem to have a very narrow band of intelligence that limits you to one channel of thought. Here is the original post:

Why is it that every "adequate" white boxer who comes on the scene is overly hyped and his abilities are inflated by both the media and the fans?

      Gatti
      Hatton
      Malignaggi?
      etc.

There are now 3 or 4 threads about Malignaggi - a trashtalking, featherdusting, juniorwelterweight in a talent-laden division who hasn't beaten anyone of note. Huh?

The white boxing fan keeps searching for the next Great White Hope. Meanwhile, there are tons of more deserving Hispanic fighters who fly below the radar. I'd love to see Gatti vs. Castillo. Malignaggi is saying that he is the best 140er in the world. Rock Allen will knock you out in two. Castillo will make you cry. Corrales will make you quit. Casamayor will embarrass you.

      **************

The point, succintly put, was that white fighters are OVERLY HYPED. That they receive attention from media and fans which is not commensurate with their accomplishments.

Now, If you disagree, please tell me (and I've asked 5 times) who all the top-flight white boxers of the past 20 years are. Please tell me who Gatti has beaten. Who Malignaggi has beaten to merit multiple threads on this board. Who Hatton has beaten other than a 36 yr old, inactive 'Zoo'.

Explain why EvilSaint said that "Arturo Gatti is the biggest box office draw since Mike Tyson"

Lastly, show me where in the post (as you misquoted) that I said "black boxers aren't hyped even when they are known to the public".

Exige, you have a very, very low IQ.
I know it hurts your feelings when I denigrate your daddy, Arturo Gatti. But he is a garbage fighter. Getting into slugfests with similarly unskilled pugs.

Artuto Gatti quit on his stool.

He was fighting a smaller guy who isn't a big puncher.

Look at me I can bold random parts of my post.

On topic: You said this when presented with some black fighters which were hyped.

So presumably you were talking about fighters who werent yet legitimate champions yet...

Hence this from me to BPP:

The direction of this thread is ultra confusing so I will deal with both the "Champions" and the "yet to become Champions".

The black champions are hyped as much as the white ones... its as simple as that. In fact I see more hype for Mayweather (black) than I do for Hatton (white). Hence why I wrote this.

So I recognised that race has nothing to do with this whole hyping thing right here ^^^. Then I went on to say that "potential" is something which is much more relative to the amount of media hype one fighter receives. Which is true given my Witter-Hatton example, and there are plenty of other examples out there.

So for the Champions black = white in terms of hype. Ie you have no argument.

For the yet to become champions, we have soo many black (or boxers of a different racial background to white) prospects that are being hyped.

Here is where I presented you with 2 of them.

Your reply, completely irrelevant, but what I come to expect from someone with no partner to the single brain cell you already have.

^^^erm answer the point mate, dont try and answer my point with another question of your own to try and detract attention away from yourself.

So for the hype for the boxers who are just starting out in the game, we have examples of black and white hype... Ie you lose this side of the argument again.

Now please, dont waste any more of my time with your ill thought out crap. Thanks.

NONE of those fighters were hyped. How in the hell can you say Ali was hyped and call yourself a boxing fan?

Mayweather, not Ali. How is Mayweather hyped?

"Mayweather is the best boxer of all time" "Nobody is beating Mayweather for the next 10 years" "Mayweather wont even get touched against Hatton" -- Mayweather is the result of media hype.

He's laughing all the way to the bank with the people saying he is P4P #1. He has fought better competition than Hatton, but I have never placed Hatton at #1 P4P. Mayweather has fought bad competition of late, admit that. He has slipped on my P4P rank. The fact he has remained there for some when others have been doing straight up hard work, proves that the media is a powerful thing.

He's the best fighter today. Period. No argument. Being hyped means that the attention you're gaining doesn't equate your talent/accomplishments. That is not the case.

Really, do you get a kick out of arguing?

I am here to argue as you are, so please dont give me that line again. I present my opinion, you present yours, the forum lives on. Thats what its all about.

And if hyped means the attention you are getting doesnt equate to the accomplishments then there is a degree of hype there still. There is no accomplishment in a P4P ranked fighter to beat Arturo Gatti, Henry Bruseles and Sharmba Mitchell, and then say it is absurd for Hatton to have a "tune up fight"...
