If Manny has his own promotional company, why is he still signed to TR anyways? Floyd has his own promotional company but he's not contractually tied to anyone and he only works with GBP.

I wonder that as well but Cotto was the same way. I also think Oscar was still with TR for a while after GBP was rolling pretty well. But either way one would think that by now Mayweather Promotions should be able to stand alone. I believe he is signed with Haymon's promotional company that isn't supposed to exist or either Haymon is a partner at GBP.

Cotto's fight against Margarito was probably his most emotional win to date and he looked spectacular doing it. Don't forget after the hand warps came out Cotto began to think that Margarito used the same illegal hand wraps against him, so this was a very personal fight for him. Even though it was a catchweight it catapulted Cotto to the top of 154.

I love Miguel Cotto, he fought everyone and now he's going for the middleweight title against Sergio...I absolutely think Margarito was using the wraps, that was his biggest fight ever and if he would use them against Shane I think it's safe to assume he used them against Cotto.
I also think Margarito getting caught before he faced shane absolutely led to him getting stopped in that fight because mentally he was all done.. that win led to shanes fight with Floyd. Cotto was never the same after that Margarito fight IMO..

Pacquiao faced David Diaz for his lightweight title when Casamayor was the man to beat at lightweight. Then JMM, chasing Manny up the scales took the lineal championship from Casamayor in his first fight at the weight. Do you really think Margarito was the best JMW that Pacquiao could have fought for a JMW title. Cotto had been worked over by Marvs and imo loss to Clottey before he fought Manny at a catch weight and even when Cotto was 154 champ, Pacquiao wanted to rematch him for his title at a catchweight again.

You could make the case that Canelo is not the best 154 lb guy too. Its all opinion unless everyone fights each other.

I'm pretty sure a ton of work goes into promoting a superfight. These guys are fighters, they can't be expected to handle the business side of things. Floyd still uses the services of GBP for exactly that reason.. I do give Floyd a ton of credit for building his brand and venturing into the business world, it takes a smart person to excel in that area.

ur right and I did. I said that fight was a farce. I was against the Mayweather/ Canelo fight but I understand that if he didn't fight Canelo he would have been accused of ducking the youngster but anyway that fight went just as I expected it to go. PS. I thought Trout beat Canelo and Canelo built his resume' fighting no hopers until he fought Trout.

Smart move the only people on earth that will get this fight to happen is the public..when the public gives Floyd enough shhh and corners him it'll happen. Til then Floyd feels not obligated to anyone or anything which is his right but don't say you have no issue fighting the guy and then turn around and say I won't until he leaves his promoters. This though makes sense as to why the Khan announcement has been delayed..there was a negotiation recently I suppose...which fell apart and pissed off Schaeffer...then all this other shhh started. What would be interesting is if Money hits 48 wins undefeated and then somehow lost to Pacquaio.I think the fight does nothing for Mayweather if he wins it but if he loses it...boyyyyyy...the critics will eat him alive...in the long run though it not happening will forever hurt both far more in their standings amongst the best ever in the sport.

Manny vs. Floyd would promote itself. The term superfight is all the promotion needed. Tyson/Lewis promoted itself as did Tyson/Holyfield and Floyd vs. Oscar etc. Thats just an excuse just like Arum talking about building that temporary stadium

Right before Floyd offered this clown $40mil, Pacroid said he would take less money to make the fight happen. Floyd called his bluff/public lie and called this boy at his home. People don't remember Floyd called Pacroid at this MF'ers house and made a legitimate offer. What did Pacroid do??????? This fools English comprehension went haywire and he couldn't understand the language so he gave the phone to Rob Arum's right hand man to try and back out of what he went public and said. If I was Floyd, Pacroid would never get a fight and I wouldn't give a Damn what haters say since beating this juicer still want satisfy anyone supporting Pacroid. The 45-0 Floyd Mayweather will always be hated on by jealous people because in this country if yi u are a black person like Floyd, S Williams, T. Easy, you go after a fight w/ said guy and then when he requests the fight at a comfortable weight, where u have already won a belt, u decline. funny how everyone says Floyd ducked Cotto, when Cotto said he never pushed for the fight and it was never offered, but Pac offers it and Cotto agrees at a comfortable weight, Pac declines, but he didnt duck.
