Trainer Abel Sanchez, who handles the career of WBA/IBO middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin, feels British star Amir Khan (28-3, 19KOs) has not done enough to earn a shot at pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. (45-0, 26KOs).

Khan is reportedly the frontrunner to face Mayweather on May 3rd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The other being under consideration is WBA welterweight champion Marcos Maidana.

Maidana has the better WW record, it's undoubtedly him who deserves it more.

Personally tho, I think the more competitive and entertaining fight for the fans i.e. us, is Khan (and I appreciate neither bout may be that competitive, but that's Floyd's choice of opponents).

Well i do too in a way, but only if he fought with his own offensive style and the flurries.....which does leave him open to be countered.
Hunter probably has Khan thinking he can outbox him.... I hope not. That'd be horrible for Khan going into the fight. Floyd is a lot older than he used to be and Khan can probably steal a decision with enough activity.
Khan has fast hands, but that chin and who knows how he'll react to Floyd's counters. Floyd can legit knock him out.

you are not buying a fight because floyd is calling manny names? you can't be serious.

As to the TS, Maidana is a much better choice of opponent for floyd IMO trhan khan. Kan doesn't deserv a ww title fight at this point.

Thats something these ppl just dont get. What has Canelo ever done? (besides Trout) yet he doesnt get the same hate Khan does even though he takes risks and doesnt have an inflated record. He was a "draw" thats why he got a mayweather fiteyet when it comes to Khan it has to be this and that. No one scrutinizes Canelo's record ever.

As a khan fan i hope he doesnt get it and gets a big win perhaps beat Kell Brook in a UK showdown which will be massive event and take that momentum in to a Mayweather fite, but if he does get it ppl shouldnt cry their eye balls out as he aint no quitter like Ortiz and he will give a real fite.
