I also agree w/ Golovkin's trainer in that Khan has not done much in recent fights to deserve a bout against mayweather (Not to mention he's yet to fight at 147). It's obviously more of a business decision for mayweather promotions which seems to infuriate & agitate Floyd's detractors. I for one don't have a problem with him being part fighter and part businessman considering the fact that boxing promoters & managers have swindled many fighters out of their earnings in years past. Quite a few fighters, even many of hof status, have ended their careers broke while others benefitted from their blood, sweat & tears. If mayweather's "money 1st" mindset bothers some folks then so be it but the fact still remains that he's the best pure boxer to grace the sport since '96. There are a few guys at 140 & 147 who can make it interesting for a few rds but none of them have much of a chance at defeating him over 12 rds whether its Garcia, maidana or khan. Maidana looked good against Broner but we all knew adrien wasn't cut from the same cloth as Floyd. Maidana's greatest asset is punching power and aggressive pressure. Well, pressure works one of 2 ways and sometimes both whereas you either break your opponent down physically or mentally. Even non fans of Floyd have to acknowledge that he's one of the best conditioned athletes in the sport & his mental toughness/focus is also second to none so pressure alone won't likely garner a win. The fighter to beat mayweather will not only have to OUTBOX him but overpower him as well which is going to be a tall order when you look at today's crop of fighters. Hate if you want but give credit where its due. Whether it's khan, maidana or Garcia, the end result will most likely be another mayweather 'W"/boxing clinic.
