In round 6, I counted 6-7 clean straight right hands that landed on Froch's jaw. Groves having a much more fluid style who actually dodges punches, may have looked as if he was hurt - but in reality he was dodging punches and firing back. It was a ridiculous stoppage by all measurements.

Groves caught a few punches, he didn't take "punishment". Certainly not to the extent you are making it out to be. or Froch himself.

Froch was very inaccurate with his punches, and most were blocked. But Groves does bruise easily, as you can see with most of his fights. He's very light skinned.

You didn't answer my question, if the situation had been reversed should Froch have been stopped?
Of course it was a bad stoppage and no I don't think Foster would have stopped It if the roles were reversed because Froch is seen as a warrior and Groves isn't he's seen as someone who's but very durable.

It's completely different in round 1 both fighters were fresh and hadn't taken any punishment.

Round 6 Froch was buzzed he wasn't hurt like Groves. He didn't look like he was hurt he was hurt, clearly. Not enough to be stopped but he was hurt and more so than Froch in the 6th

"A few punches" he took plenty of punches and took a lot of punishment. Not as much as Froch but plenty none the less. His face has never looked in that kind of state ever.

As if he'd decided before hand that he'd stop Groves.
Absolutely. George is quite right when he points out, the very second Froch had any significant success the ref was immediately on it and looking to step in. This is a bad pattern of Foster's career looking at it.

Still easy to say it's just bias cos as we know he expected (perhaps even wanted having liked a status) Froch to stop him in round 9.

So when George is hurt in round 9 he's saying to himself, just as I expected, I know how this will go, lets stop it.

This is why you can't have a guy whom is known to stop fights early, make dodgy calls, and have an evident bias towards a certain fighter and result - and expect fair officiating.

Well we can only go by televised fights but I found 4 examples very quickly after I started searching. I suspect british fans could find a lot more.

I suppose Renda's people had Foster in their pocket and that's the reason he was so late to stop the "A side"
Renda's promoter won the purse bid and was in charge of the event, do your homework. I guess Foster's incompetence was somehow transformed from a referee who stops fights too early to a referee who stops fights late.

Someone hasn't read the whole thread.
