Another horrible stoppage from referee Howard John Foster (Froch vs Groves referee)

Brook vs Jackiewicz, two years ago. Referee Howard John Foster with another shocking stoppage in favor of a Eddie Hearn fighter.

At this point you can't say it's just incompetence.

it's definitely not just incompetence, though i'm not beyond calling john foster [ or whatever the f#ck his name is,] incompetent. something else is going on.

froch was hurt a hell of a lot worse in the first than groves was at the time of the stoppage. if a ref is gunshy about letting guys get hurt on his watch he'd stop the fight in the first.

This is precisely it NE. The regularity with which Froch was getting seriously heavy rights to his head was 5x worse. Froch clearly had no legs after the KD visibly stumbling back, then visibly hurt in the 6th and other rounds.

There was no such clear evidence of Groves not having his legs or being as hurt as Froch was. He had his hands up, was dodging, didn't lose his legs, and threw back. None of those 4 things did Froch really do.

It's a horrible stoppage by which the better safe than sorry excuse contradicts itself when we saw how much more, and how much more regularly...Froch was hurt.

The UK has a history of these quick stoppages. I honestly can't say for sure if it's corruption or incompetence.

Froch hadn't taken any punishment unlike Groves in the 9th. Stopping it in the first would have been much worse.

And I doubt it's corruption it's simply Howard Foster is a terrible ref and stops fights way too early. He's done it so many times.

So it's a coincidence that the fighters who win by TKO have the same promoter, who happens to be the main promoter in charge of the event?

I don't think he should be allowed to referee 12 round fights. Top fighters are simply bound to hurt to each other at some stage.

He allowed Froch to take a beating and not Groves so it is now looking like he is crooked.

The 'rather he took one less shot than one too many' brigade don't really have an argument to make when Froch got rocked to his heels God knows how many times. He could have been stopped legitimately in Round 1 and Round 6.

He could have administered Groves a standing 8 count but he couldn't wait to jump in there. And why did he grab Groves around the head - weird ****?

Usually, I'd stick up for a ref and call it bad day at the office but he didn't do a thing right all night. An American ref would have taken a few points of Carl most likely as well for continuously hitting on the break. He jobbed Groves completely. Almost as bad as Sven Ottke's ref for the Robin Reid fight.

If he could have called that knockdown in 1st a slip he would have.

                    Just sheer incompetence.

You actually think the Brook-Jackiewicz fight was corruption? Brook was utterly dominated why would the ref need to jump in? He's just a bad ref and jumps in way too quickly.

He's done it so many times on different promoters shows.
