No he's not, there's not just doubt there are facts. It's incredibly disrespectful to the history of the sport, to the guys who did so much against great competition, to say Floyd is greater.

It's part of it, yes. It doesn't really benefit him to talk up Hagler, Leonard or Hearns. Mayweather is active and is part of his promotional stable.

This is the same Hopkins that I'm sure picked Ricky Hatton to beat Floyd a few years ago. There's always plenty of this kinda hyperbole immediately after a fight.

Because other fighters accomplished more against better fighters. Vaulting Floyd ahead of them for beating lesser fighters and accomplishing less isn't fair to them. Is Wlad Klitschko the greatest heavyweight ever? After all, he can only fight the guys in his era.

I probably will never consider him the greatest for reasons he has no control over which is because his ERA did not produce many great fighters and he really did not allow any great fighters to ship because he was/is so good

But I will say that he is the most complete fighter I ever seen and and might be the most gifted BOXER ever.

You combine his crazy Natural Abilities to go with a insane work ethic and you get greatness every time!

People act like their were 20 incredible fighters in each era.
Usually there is only 4-5 really great ones and a few good ones in each era.

Lets be serious , its an opinion that's all , Bhops is a significant HW opinion nothing more , this debate of best ever is all BS if you ask me , Floyd is one of the best ever and there are many more in the grade , nobody is clearly the best ever .

His opinion most certainly counts - but you also have to take it into context, Floyd is just coming off a major win looking spectacular.

It is an opinion to some extent, but I just wouldn't be able to justify it. But each to his own.

He fought differently against Guerrero and that's just going back one fight. I haven't seen Floyd use his jab like he did against Canelo in a long time if ever. Against ghost, Floyd mostly through lead rights and he moved around way more. He sat in the pocket more often against Canelo and walked him down at times. I'm not even going to get into his older fights. Floyd gives fighters a few different looks in the same fight, the same round even.

Hopkins is talking about pure talent and skill.
When you rank all time greats against each other.........it is really based on the talent and skill.

Robinson lost many fights right? So why are the fighters who beat him not ranked as high as him? Because although he lost, he was the most skilled fighter of that time.

Ali lost right? But the fighters he lost to are not ranked higher than him.

It's not about just the resume or wins/losses.
The talent and all around skill level of Mayweather puts him right up there at the top.

Bill Russell is the greatest winner ever in the NBA. But it's michael Jordan who is considered as the best ever.

Why......Because he did things that no other NBA player could do.
