This dude is a bit full of himself, he will be remembered as an "also ran" a "second place" fighter because he is second best to Andre Ward. Rematch and beat the best fighter in your division before you start boasting about legacy.

      Draw: Lennox

But Froch will NEVER be ahead of Calzaghe unless he can beat Ward or Knockout Hopkins in a devastating manner.
that makes no sense. Calzaghe never beat loads of fighters, in fact he positively ducked them in his post prime period.
You are arguing that Calzaghe was never as good as the mythical Calzaghe portrait you have painted in your head.

The best win there imo is Cleverly who is a LHW but depends on what he achieves by the time Froch's fought him coz he isn't rated by most right now.
Martinez is absolutely stellar, cant see how you can call him a B.

Judging from Calzaghe's recent outburst its Joe that is getting eaten at. Froch didn't even mention Cal's name but Joe still ranted in the Welsh papers against Froch.

But come on, do you really want to see Froch fighting at Calzaghe's level? Its just not in Froch's character to face bums for 10 years. I certainly don't want Forch to fight bums for 10 years and then fight two 40somethings and then retire. Please be kind to Froch.

Froch seems more comfortable fighting at least 1 league higher than Joe Cals' average level. And I don't think you should deny us the pleasure of seeing genuine top level boxing each year just because you want Carl Froch to fight at the same level as Calzaghe does.

I disgaree Joe never ducked people those who don't like Joe keep saying that I will say agaian like I have said on here before - when Joe fought Lacey- Mayweathr and Pac had not established themselves to where they are today , Lacey was then considered to be the best pound for pound at the time and Joe not only beat him but did this resoundly - Lacey never recovered from that (that is why I say Froch needed to beat Ward to be on Joe's level) he beat Biko who is tsill considered up in the top 10 today - after Hopkins lost to Joe looked what he has accomplished so not all that bad for Joe - Hopkins has beaten alot of top fighteres recently - ok Roy was past his best but Joe was also past his best at that stage and watching Joe for years he would of figured a prime Jones junior out as Joe adapts in the ring - his fight against Eubank was a classic a underdog going into the fight but what afight that was - so I will always back Joe because this guy has accomplished what no other British fighter has and his name is in the Hall of Fame. Ring ****zine have also rated Joe as one off the best so this is not just comuing from me.

Historical pound for pound ratings can be found here:

Jeff Lacy was never considered #1, or even in the top 10.

I disagree in the States he was considered the best pound for pound at the time.

Sorry but I don't buy the only Ward and Hopkins talk.
You don't have to but it but there's no way Froch's record will stand up to Joe's without.

Both Golovkin and Martinez are MW's. Hopkins was a LHW that Joe beat, not only a major difference in talent but in weight.

Martinez just in many people's eyes lost to Murray, come on Martinez might be A level of his division but slipping fast and is a MW and not that big of one to start with.

Martinez may not be a B level fighter. But, what he is is highly overrated.

Lacy was also the favorite going into the Calzaghe fight and he was supposed to prove that Joe was a overprotected British fighter. Instead he got the snot beat out him and was never quite the same after that.
