Floyd fought better versions of Hatton and Oscar.

They fought the same versions of Cotto and Mosley.

Hatton, Oscar, and Mosley were far better fights when Floyd fought them though. Hatton was still a good fight for Pac though no doubt.

Cotto was a good fight for both, but Pac gets more credit because he did it first.

And the fact that JMM arguably just beat Manny at the same weight where Floyd whupped him, that has to be taken into account.
Yes but the fact that Manny also officially and arguably beat JMM at his best weight, and in his prime..Gives him more credit for that fight.. While the 3rd fight was really controversial, the 1st and 2nd are not..

Cotto was a far better version 2009 than 2011.. So Pac gets that credit..

You have a good argument on Hatton though.. But I think Hatton was a better fighter at LWW than at WW.. Although I can see your point of view too...

it makes since, but then again...Mayweather has been a top 10 pound for pound since the late 90's, and top 5 since around 00'/01/(no one really knew who Manny was and for sure wasnt a p4p guy until fighting Barrera in 03) and has been considered the p4p #1 since 2004 he has stayed undefeated so it never made sense to me how they put Manny at number one...Maybe because of his retirement, so Manny got it by default.

IMO it is fair until they fight each other, they fight around the same weight and the debate is so tired and all....in my opinion the best fighter in the world is Mayweather....more fans, publlications, trainers, analysts, etc...think so, he has been on the world stage alot longer.

No, Cotto was basically the same. Speed/skill, he was the same, just at 154.

And I thought we were talking about fights since Pac took over #1 when Floyd was retired??? That didn't happen until he beat Oscar. So we can;t really take him beating Marquez in 08' into account, because he wasn't declared #1 P4P at that point yet.

All good man. I don't care who's #1 or #2 anyway, who cares???

Pacquiao should've been removed from the top slot as soon as he signed to fight Margarito.

Even though Pac beat Cotto much more convincinly than Floyd did, Floyds a better win? So Floyd beat JMM more convincinly than Pac, but Pacs win over JMM is much better than Floyds as well i guess.
As it was JMMs best weight afterall and he was put down 4 times as well and FLoyd couldnt even put the bloated JMM down twice.

I dont think FLoyd fans want Floyd to fight Pac as they care for his unbeaten record as much as Floyd does. They just happy to cheerlead him thats where the enjoyment is, not him actually fighting.

Pac fought JMM in 2008, which is when he took over that #1 spot..Floyd gave up his p4p status in 2007..

Nah.. Cotto was 2-3 years away removed from the time he fought Pac.. He only looks better because with the way he fought Floyd.. Truthfully he didnt do anything much at LMW, compared to what he has done at 147..

Nah fighting Margarito is much more dangerous than sitting on the couch watching dvds of Pac like Floyd does.

Floyds been preparing to fight Pac for 6 years, and the preparing bit aint dangerous and he deserves no credit for that.

Floyds already admitted Pac is no1. He said "come one man, Pac walks through Cotto like he is nothingg. Come on man, please. Of course hes on something. I cant do things like that and im bigger than Pac"

So Ring mag get your act together you arent fooling anyone.

Round 6 was Cotto. Round 7 was Floyd. Round 8 was Cotto.

Round 9 was close, could have gone either way. No problem with either fighter winning that round.

                      Floyd won rounds 10-12 clearly.

                      118-110/117-111.
I thought cotto did enough to take round 5 i also gave him rounds 6 and 8 - gave all the rest to floyd so thats 117-111 on my card.
