Mayweather won the FOTY award for that year you moron

Mayweather considered the certified P4P at that point and that was absolutely set in stone. It wasn't even considered a debate.

Hence, again, why he won the fighter of the year award that year.

@ you trying to change history.

No links provided for your bull**** fictional claim? Thought so.

Floyd got out at the right time, just as he was about to lose his spot as the so called best.
    More bull****.

Every response of mindless babble you provide just further confirms how upset you are over the fact that Pacquaio would never have been P4P #1 had Mayweather not retired for 2008.

When Pac beat Hatton and DLH, Pac was no1 as far as the world was concerned and wins over Cotto and Co cememented that status. Hes beating the boys people are kissing Floyds ass for, better than Floyd could ever dream off.
Whether Floyd retired or not is irrelevant he would have lost his no1. There would have been outcry if Pac didnt get no1 spot and Floyd didnt retire.

He was certifed #1 when he beat Marquez in March of 2008.

However, that was to fill the vacancy that left when Floyd Mayweather, the previous P4P #1, had retired from the sport.

Again, had Mayweather not retired for the duration of 2008, Manny Pacquaio would never have been the P4P #1 to this very day.

Unless of course, Mayweather were to lose in that time.

says who? What you, the floyd lover and we know that holds no weight. The public had spoken and they would get there way. It was plain to see.

The best fighters in the world dont always have challengers to their no1 spots, but Floyd obvisoulsy did have. Pac was out performing FLoyd at his weight, so yes Pac would have been no1. Hes smaller than FLoyd yet beating and knocking people out so why on gods earth would Floyd be no1 still?
Pac is FOTD so of course he would be no1.

Say's the fact that The Ring Magazine generally don't move their P4P #1 unless they lose.

Mayweather out-performed Pacquaio in his last 2 fights in comparison to his fight with those fighters. Yet, he's still #1. Why? Because they don't move you unless you lose.

Mayweather was ranked higher than Pacquiao according to The Ring Magainze in 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06 and 07.

For the umpteenth time, the only reason that Pacquaio moved to the P4P #1 spot in 2008 was because Floyd Mayweather retired for that year.

It's that simple, this is a fact. It doesn't matter how many times you try and tip toe around it.

And again, it doesn't determine anything to who is greater.

It does, however, determine that your logic about who is ranked higher on the P4P list is superior to the other etc is flawed and ******ed.

But, we all knew that anyway.

You should have heard of him, he was beating the likes of barrera and Morales not too long before Floyd retired.

When Pac beat DLH and Hatton, Floyd was somewhat of a joke figure if you visitied forums online.
Similar to the joke figure Pac was after beating JMM in his last fight, and Floyd fans crying Floyd should be no1.
Ring mag did contemplate putting Floyd at no1 after his win over Ortiz i remember reading, but didnt listen to the wishers and hopers on fourms and went with their head. They did actually take into account all of Pacs impressive wins before beating JMM in the third fight and allowed pac a bad performance.

irondamhanza give it up. Floyd hasnt out performed Pac in any fight apart from JMM when JMM was bloated. Stop putting low standards on Floyd and what he should be doing to prove his worth.

If Floyd had of stepped up and beat Sergio there maybe an argument for Floyd taking Pac place. But Floyd isnt hungry enough at this point in time.
