WHile your at it, what great fighters has Sergio beat as well?
Pac demolished hatton better than Floyd and DLH so is deserving of no1 and everyone knows it.
Floyd seemed to be no1 on the basis he was american. Ducking cotto and margraito also kept him at no1 for some reason.
Floyd has spent the last 14 years fighting the #1 & #2 in each division he's competed in. The only instance where he didn't face the #1 in a division was when Kostya Tszyu demanded a 60-40 split and would budge.
Pacquiao padded his record with his first 40 fights in southeast Asia. While he was avoiding real competition, he was knocked out twice by journeymen. He's been outboxed by a brawler in Erik Morales, and he in most minds lost both fights to Marquez. Then after Marquez in 2008, Pacquiao NEVER faced a top 3 fighter, and its now 2011 going into 2012.
That's the difference Hugh Grant.
One boxer fights the best in any division he's competing in.
The other looks for catchweight matches, vacant title bouts and gets knocked out.
Morales beat Pacquiao and then got dominated by Zahir Raheem. Pacquiao chose to fight against the loser and avoided the winner.
Mayweather fights winners(except in the case of Judah) and champions.
Pacquiao actually targets losers and banned fighters as opponents.
And let us not forget that Pacquiao's last 6 opponents were ALL coming off the biggest losses of their careers. Then they had a tune up against a club fighter or 2 and then they lost to Pacquiao as if they were ever back on top.
Mayweather's last 2 opponents were the #1 and #2 WW champions of the world.
Pacquiao's last 2 opponents were Mosley after Floyd dominated him and he got a draw against Mora ... and Margarito who actually banned for cheating during his match wirh Pacquiao!
Don't pretend to be serious with me, peasant. You are not a serious man. You cling to bedtime stories and dream of a day when your favorite peasant will legitimately win against a top fighter without having to manipulate weight or wait for them to be coming off of a loss.
Next you'll be talking about writer awards that Manny had GIVEN to him, but didn't earn. Boxers EARN in the ring, not at the podiums and press conferences.
Pacquiao's best opposition was Marquez and we saw how those matches went. We know that both Barrera and Morales avoided him for years.
All of Pacquiao other wins came over club fighters, dehydrated losers and banned fighters.
Check his record. You'll see that there is no mistake in what I've written.

The Cotto pac beat would have beat anyone Floyd ever fought while im at it.
So what if Floyd beat grandad SSM. In hindsight SSM isnt that great so why should floyd get credit for beating SSM? Thats like trying to get a ***** to give Pac credit for beating DLH! DLH was a beast who was supposed to beat Pac like he was his daddy, but it didnt map out like people planned.

Floyd fights the #1 or #2 in every division? Are you crazy? He RETIRED rather than fight Cotto or Margarito, who were at the time the top 2 names in the welterweight division. He moved up from jr-welterweight, when he could've fought Tszyu (division's no.1), to fight a blown-up jr-welterweight Tszyu victim in his first fight at welterweight (Sharmba Mitchell)!
He has also continued to avoid the CURRENT no. 1 welterweight in the world, Manny Pacquiao.
You take such glee in pointing out 'Pacquiao's best opposition was Marquez and we saw how those matches went', but by the same token we can say Floyd's best opposition was Castillo, in 2002, and 'we saw how that match went' (very dubious decision for Floyd). Your refusal to give credit to Pac for destroying Barrera, at the time one of the very top pound for pound fighters in the world, and Morales (twice) shows a blatant bias on your part.
Pacquiao's last 6 opponents were all coming off bad losses followed by a tune up?
I guess you'd count Clottey, a big, powerful welterweight former titlist, as a 'tune-up' for Cotto? I suppose you'd count Malignaggi as a 'tune up' for Hatton? (And Hatton looked the best he'd ever looked in that fight; only Mayweather acolytes and blatant Pacquiao haters would dispute this)
Your bias is clear as day. It's pathetic.

I guess Manny shouldnt fight all three, and just go ahead and fight another Top Rank fighter. Maybe the winner of Margarito vs Cotto?

Cotto won 1 fight against Mosley that put him into the top 3, then lost 6 months later. Same with Margarito. He won against Cotto and then got KO'd 8 months later.
Floyd beat every #1 ranked in every division WHILE THEY WERE STILL RANKED #1! Tszyu being the only exception.
When Floyd faced SSM, Shane was the #1WW after having knocked out Margarito who beat Cotto bloody. Shane was coming off of a huge win and had actually earned his #1 spot.
When Floyd faced Ortiz, Victor was the #2WW in the world after having beaten Berto. And guess what? Berto is already champion again at WW. Ortiz was coming off of a huge win and had actually earned his spot.
Pacquiao fought Barrera and Morales ... lost to Morales. Then dodges the man who had just beaten Morales: Zahir Raheem.
Pacquiao has NOT faced a first, second or third ranked boxer since 2008 when he fought Marquez.
There is no way he's a top boxer by fighting 5th ranked fighters. That's just the way it is. You don't jump to #1 by fighting 5th ranked boxers ... no matter how many 5th ranked fighters you face.
