The only year that Floyd was not active since 1996 was 2008. Both Cotto and Margarito were destroyed following the one noteworthy each of them managed to obtain. We are talking in a matter of 8 months each fighter was beaten, had their title taken, and struggling to get back on their feet. Then, within 1-2 tune ups, they were defeated again by Pacquiao. Remember, Pacquiao only fights guys coming off losses.

He moved up from jr-welterweight, when he could've fought Tszyu (division's no.1), to fight a blown-up jr-welterweight Tszyu victim in his first fight at welterweight (Sharmba Mitchell)!

Any real fan who was watching boxing back then remembers what really happened. Tszyu demanded a 60/40 split and priced himself out of a fight. Ironically Tszyu got blasted in his fight with Hatton, who afterwards went up to face Mayweather.

He has also continued to avoid the CURRENT no. 1 welterweight in the world, Manny Pacquiao.

How is Manny Pacquiao the #1WW in the world? Every WW that Pacquiao has faced has been ranked 5th except for Cotto, who was ranked 4th. Pac passed every test ever, and people only accused him of being on PEDS because of his success in the ring. They didnt accuse him of it, because he refused a test, so people will think what they want to think about Pac regardless.

And this has happened too many time for it to be coincidence.
Roach trained ODH and said he already knew that he could not pull the trigger anymore. Hence, he convinced Pac that he could win that fight and they took it.
He said Cotto didn't look the same, they fought him instead of Mosley. They said Hatton didn't look the same after Mayweather, they fought him. Then Margarito, who earlier Roach had said " we aren't ******" when asked about fighting him. Then Mosley after he looks bad against Mayweather and Mora and they wouldn't fight when he was the #1 WW, unless at 140-141 . Now its Marquez whom Roach even said after the last fight, they are done with Marquez. Now that he is further past him prime and far above his natural weight, now they are ready for revenge. Cotto won 1 fight against Mosley that put him into the top 3, then lost 6 months later. Same with Margarito. He won against Cotto and then got KO'd 8 months later.

Floyd beat every #1 ranked in every division WHILE THEY WERE STILL RANKED #1! Tszyu being the only exception. When Floyd faced SSM, Shane was the #1WW after having knocked out Margarito who beat Cotto bloody. Shane was coming off of a huge win and had actually earned his #1 spot.

Pacquiao fought Barrera and Morales ... lost to Morales. Then dodges the man who had just beaten Morales: Zahir Raheem. Pacquiao has NOT faced a first, second or third ranked boxer since 2008 when he fought Marquez.
