If Ward can't hurt Froch, can he Dirrell him?

It's more than one fight Dan. He boxed well tonite. Ward boxed from the outside ONE time in the smw tourney, vs Abe. Same as froch.

Ward definitely has more "dimension" and versatility than Froch.

Froch is primarily a distance jabber and can only fight ONE style. I have seen Ward fight MORE than one style.

Here is why Ward will beat Froch:

Ward is more mobile AND has stamina. Froch has MORE problem with guys who are more mobile. It is true that he beat Taylor and Dirrell. But consider Taylor's stamina and the decision to Dirrell was kind of close IMO. The Kessler that fought Froch to AT LEAST a DRAW is not a prime Kessler and lost some of his ability to throw combos. But Kessler was OUTCLASSed by Ward. Ward is smart and is not gonna walk straight in like Johnson in tonight. When Johnson had his legs he was giving Froch some problem in some early rds. You must remember that Ward is very cunning and is not gonna go straight in. Ward has better head movement so will neutralize some of Froch's jab.

Let's not compare Froch's ability on the outside to Ward's. Utterly no comparison.

Froch was being soundly beaten on the outside by Taylor as he was by Dirrell. He made those fights his by taking the fight to them. Johnson had his moments also.

Ward has never been beaten on the outside in his entire career.

Froch fights the same way. His left hand is still way down. He is still primarily a jabber to the head. That uppercut didn't land that often tonight.
All he shown tonight is that he has better chin than most expect. Remember Ward has better mobility and footwork and that should prove decisive but we shall see.

Taylors not really good on the outside either and would get humilated by Ward and would have much less problems than Froch did.

Dirrell however is a different matter and no he hasn't faced anyone with a good outside game on the level of Dirrells.

Carl Froch really isn't a versatile fighter. He really isn't.

To me, his outside game is pathetic. He isn't and never has been an outside fighter so he should scrap trying to be one.

On the inside, like I said, he is dead average. Better than he is on the outside and he might be able to have success against Johnson who is at the end of his carrer and is known to fade late in fights but I would bet he won't have the same success with Ward.

Froch's win tonight was ok, nothing special.

I rank better than Ward's win over green but not as good as Ward's win over Abraham.

And out of Froch's last 6 fights it's argubaly his least impressice victory.

i reckon froch is doing ok for himself for having a pathetic outside game and a dead avergae inside game...most fighters with those qualifications dont make it that far in this game, they usually end up about 5-28 and getting ko'd 16 times. i guess SMW really sucks........
