Yes, I agree, it does totally suck you have to sign with Top Rank to get a Pacquiao fight. But unfortunately, it is the way it is. But from JMMs perspective, JMM was upset with GBP because they demanded a lot of money (double what JMM got for fighting Mayweather) and it was a complete cash grab by GBP. JMM would have still got close to the purse he got for Mayweather and GBP would be the ones getting paid. And the reason JMM didn't take the Morales fight is GBP told him that "We will get you the Morales fight, but you have to sign a fight extension with us?" Do you think that is right?

The bottom line is Bob Arum is a huge scumbag piece of pooh, but GBP, Don King, Gary Shaw (who can't promote stink on ****), Dibella, etc are all complete scumbags. When Bob and Don are gone, GBP will become the new Top Rank, will get most of the fighters and shut everyone else out like TR does. Unfortunately, it's the nature of the beast of the game we love called boxing...

      100% true.... that's truly bull****.. !!
But i'm just saying the facts. There's no reason to say Pacquiao is or was afraid of any of those guys !!

The guys from the commission has left the promoters do whaterver they want. That's the reason boxing is what it is !!

Unless somehow Floyd Jr comes out unscatched from his legal troubles before Pacquiao's May 7th fight and declares he wants to fight, this will be Pac's next fight. People will complain that it will be 147 lbs but this will be different than Mayweather vs. JMM. Although, there won't be a catchweight, JMM will weigh approx 141 to 142 lbs and I see Manny weighing about 142 to 143 lbs. Pacquiao cannot weigh the full 147 limit if he wants to maintain the speed needed to compete with JMM. Also, Pac weighed 144 for his fight with Margarito and when asked why so low, he said he had trouble keeping the weight on. This will be a good fight to finally decide who is the best between the two of these warriors...
Even if Mayweather comes out unscathed with his legal troubles (which keeps getting postponed by the way), there's no way he comes back and goes straight in to a fight with Pac. He will take a tune-up, no doubt. IF, and that's a big IF, this fight ever really does happen - I doubt it happens any sooner then 2012.

I completely agree with your weight assessments for Pac/JMM, I've been saying the same thing. I believe the real reason Pac came in so low for the 150lb fight with Margarito was he said he felt he was loosing speed. And that will be yet another reason why I doubt Pac would come in any higher then 144 for a fight with JMM also. Very possibly even lower. But Roach and Koncz have been very adamant about not agreeing to fight below 147 (officially). As I've said in the past, I don't see it as a big deal because neither one of them HAVE to come all the way up and I doubt either of them will. The 147lb demand will be part of the deal for a JMM/Pac fight though, some people will discredit Pac for it but I don't see it as a deal breaker or a huge issue.

IMO: IF PAC CAME IN AT 144LBS FOR A 150LB FIGHT AGAINST A GUY WHO OUTWEIGHED HIM BY 17LBS, HE SURE THE HELL ISN'T GOING TO WEIGH MORE THEN 144LBS AGAINST A SMALLER GUY WITH SPEED. WEIGHT SHOULD NOT BE A BIG ISSUE. Making the fight at 147lbs is all politics. :IMO

i think marquez does deserve it,but he won't win at 147,he's barely a lightweight, and i think he'll lose at 147 or manny will still use the catchweight thing and "accomodate" him at 145,which is still a lot for marquez,i doubt marquez can even compete at 140..manny will win and his fans will look at it as a huge, impressive victory, manny's body has adapted well at 147 combined with his catchweight demands and the choice of his opponents, jmm is just a lightweight

LOL I thought he beats PAC twice, now his tshirt say,'I Want To Get Rid Of This Thorn'. Anyway he is not going to get this fight without a promotional contract, he will have to sign a 2-3 fight deal with Arum or he's screw.
