No knock on Donaire but his success is mostly attributed to his size

i agree with the TS to a certian degree. Cus i have always ****ted on ppl like margarito, p.will etc etc.

i have never doubted donaire's skills n abilities but i aint no fool in hiding th fact that his size has been much of an advantage. u look at his fights anywhere at 118 n below n everyone of his opponents looked like midget boys compared to him. thats a fact. Dony boy was at an advantage. y cus he iant a brawler, he is a very techinical fighter that uses every inch of his reach to break his opponents down. his size is a very gud advantage for him theres no doubt.

in terms of skills last nite. if both montiel and nonito was exactly the same size, nonito wud have still tapped that ass. all day all nite. all year.

im still p1ssed about nonito becus he is still beating up midgets, y? cus im mad that he aint fullfilling his potential, by going up to 126 wud only be good for himself it wud stop him for cutting back down so much.

so thats my stance, *** u nonito until u step up yr game and fight at yr potential, yr only beating up lil turds cus yr taking the easy option.

I think "mostly" or even "a good portion" are just really bad terms to use in reference to Donaire's success in the ring.

I think that it certainly does help him in ways, but size doesn't throw punches like that. Size doesn't have athleticism and quickness and combinations and all of those things which are actually what make Donaire an excellent fighter. They're not attributable "mostly" to size. We see fighters who are much larger than their opposition and fighters for whom size does mostly play a role in what they do in the ring and they don't fight like he does.

When you take all that he has and THEN add size to it, it helps, but not the other way around, the size isn't the foundation.

        well using dominicano's logic,

alexis arguello & tommy hearns are cheating scumbags because they're too tall for the division.

Come on donaire was outweighed in the ring by nearly 10 pounds last night, taller can be an advantage but there are plenty of small guys KOing and destroying taller guys, you need a LOT more than height

                LOL ****** thread..

now there a height requirement in boxing..

no one **** on hagler, pwill, the Klitchko brothers for their height..

but ones a filipino who was only inch taller wins.. all the sudden he to ****ing big.

Pac, and even floyd has beaten bigger taller guys.. so this is proof that height doesnt matter..

TS is just a Pinoy hater...

I would always say that not only has Nonito beaten up on much weaker opposition, but much smaller too. This was before he even fought Montiel. Everyone seemed critical of him.

                      really?

nonito has absolutely crushed 2 top 10 p4p fighters.

how many active boxers can say that?
