No knock on Donaire but his success is mostly attributed to his size

or Erik Morales' reign of terror at 122....were you crying about size back then too?

Damn guys, get of Dom's ass.

What he's saying is that his being bigger than his opponents is an advantage, an advantage he won't always have. It will interesting to see how he handles opponents that will be naturally bigger than him as he moves up in weight.

Its like he was way more faster & skillful then them but on top of that had the dominant size advantage. It reminded me of a young Oscar at the lower weights beating up on guys who looked clearly alot smaller.

Donaire is my man but he's not nowhere near the Floyd-Pac catagory until I see him in a big fight against a guy who is physically the same sized. If he moves up and then beats or even hangs with those guys then Ill give him more props
thats true, i bring that fact up all the time about DLH and trinidad when people try and talk trash about hopkins fighitng smaller guys, dlh and trinidad were known to drop 30+lbs to fight at the lower weights.

my only argument, or view point about that with donaire is, he's a smaller guy, in lower weight classes than the previously mentioned and i don't think he's dropping 30+lbs to fight at 118, i could be wrong, but i don't see it, especially since he's NOT gaining upwards to 15 or more pounds after making weight.

donaire does have height, but his physicality isnt that intimidating, he's not built like a brick schit house, he doesn't ballon up between fights, so i'm on the fence a bit about using that argument against donaire. it's only inevitable to move up form the smaller weights, and i do think that he can make the higher weights and still be effective and win, but the progression i think along with his confidence building is on point with how i would want one of my smaller weight fighters to come along, he is not in a rush, never acted in a rush, and it's paying off.

the size game is one that has made boxing a tough puzzle, because, sometimes the seemingly advantages don't always end up being advantages. look at fighters who drop the weight and react poorly to getting hit because they're so dried out...........

all in all, i think the scrutiny is a little much on donaire right now, i think we should go by what he does for his next few fight decisions before we start to scrutinize his career wins as a whole.......

i will be one of the people up in the front row calling shenanigans if it becomes obvious of what he's doing, as of right now, i see a guy maneuvering through a process of progress..............

montiel came in as a lightweight on fight night.

donaire came in as a featherweight.

what you mean bigger? cuz that's not the case.

You can say donaire is taller but not bigger.

No he's saying the main reason Donaire is successful is because of his size

size would be a much larger factor against lesser oppts maybe, but i dont see it as much of an advantage over the top fighters that he is walkingthrough. i mean he ktfo vic, and montiel like they were low level fighters. his skill, patience, power, and iq is vastly underrated, the kid is not a joke.

So to sum up Nonito's career in YOUR words it would be like this:

                  Nonito's success:
                  Size > Skill

                  GTFOH.

apparently a fighter coming in on fight night as a featherweight is a cheating scumbag because he's 2 inches taller than his opponent who came in as a lightweight in a bantamweight fight.

5'6 bantamweights are cheating scumbags to dom.
