Would you say that Joe Frazier had supreme talent?

Manny wouldn't be where he is today without Roach. The fundamentals were there for Roach to work with from the start, these were further improved by him. On the other hand, Mayweather is a different fighter all together, he uses his brain to beat people, he is able to adapt to any given situation in a ring. Mayweather is a thinker in the ring, he's smart - Pacquiao is a work horse, who relies on throwing as many punches as possible.

He was one of the most talented pressure fighters of all time. There are many different types of talent.

Pacquiao is far more than just a workhorse, that's a ridiculous analysis. The reason he dominated Cotto so easily wasn't the volume of punches, it was the fact that Cotto didn't see the punches coming.

No one is born with a defence like Floyds its not possible it's something he mastered. What I'm getting at is, Mayweathers boxing brain could be looked on as far more superior to Mannys.

The man could most likely go 12 rounds with nobody in his corner, I can't see how Manny would adapt without Roach, I don't know if Manny would be where he is now with out Roach either.
You hit the nail on the head bruh. Floyd more than like likely could go 12 rounds and then some without anyone in his corner. Manny on the other hand cannot. He still has a hard time adapting in the ring now, with Freddie being in his corner let alone without him being there.

Everyone can say what they will about Floyd, but he is phenomenal at adapting to his opponents. I think it would actually be the difference in the fight...........If they ever DO fight.

Floyd was born into a boxing family and taught boxing since he was like 3 yo.

So if you do something nearly everyday since you were 3 then Im pretty sure it should come naturally or if not then you are just bad at it.

If Floyd was born into a normal everyday family I dont think he would be boxing or if was born into a family like manny had, he might not even be alive.

On the other hand Manny came from nothing and was a world class boxer without world class training, so does that make him more naturally gifted? I dont know.

Imagine if manny was born into a boxing family, was trained since he was 3 yo and actually had a amature boxing career. He would probably a more complete fighter then he is now.

They both have excellent attributes for boxing and combined with their work ethics makes them great boxers.
                You got it..

I wanted to reply something to this effect.

Most people seem to equate talent with slickness, or technical ability or polish. The ability to take truckloads of physical punishment, where boxing is concerned, can be considered a talent. The same can be said about a natural potential to throw a murderous left hook. These things can only be developed if they're there to begin with. There's no way you become an ATG without talent. It's a given.

You failed to address the gap in boxing intelligence.

Sergio Martinez started boxing when he was 20. Yet, he is as ring smart as Manny is.

Manny actually did have an amateur career. He just did it in the pro ranks (Torre and Sing days). Much like the Mexican fighters who start at fifteen (like Margo)

Durability is not a talent. It is an attribute. Or a characteristic.
