My biggest complaint of Cortez is that he's disruptive to the action. To me, the third man in the ring should be virtually invinsible except when needed. Joe Cortez makes it a point to be seen and heard and to be part of the action.
It's amazing that he still is hired to work high profile fights. I think the general consensus amongst boxing fans is, that he's incompetant and has more bad nights than he does good ones.
