Mostly matchmaking, when he faces another top level boxer/counterpuncher, you won't see half the skills you see now.

Just off balance punches and in ring confusion.

But Paulies style and his speed was going to give Hatton trouble, I knew that going into the fight... but he still got the TKO there... So he went into the Pac fight coming off a TKO...

Cotto, coming off that Clottey fight.. definitely didn't look great... I also think that was Clotteys best performance to date.

I also think the cut that Cotto had in that fight made it look a lot worse than it actually was... but.. it still wasnt good..

Either way, I go back to my original post in this thread.

None of these guys were bums... and if Pac didn't have skills, he would not of been able to overcome the size difference... he would of lost to these guys.

But I do not defend the matchmaking going on in-house at TR.. I am not ignorant to it, and I won't defend it.

This is why I want a Berto match up.

Because even though he leaves something to be desired... he is a young, prime undefeated title holder, who actually is coming off an impressive performace.

Performance moreso than win.. because he hasnt beaten anyone either.
I agree with you, Manny is very skilled.

I am hoping Berto doesn't get a shot. He will be exposed and knocked out by Manny, that I am sure of. He is not good enough to fight Manny.

Manny is simply on another level from Berto...

          This.

I dont think many other fighters in the history of the sport could have carried up their speed, stamina and power.

But his spectacular wins havent come against smart boxers, they have come against tough fighters.

Pac is still an ATG. But id like to see him fight JMM. Cant think of another great boxer to test him.

Well... who are you hoping for?

            Mosley....?

I don't even think I need to post why that's an absurd matchup.

            JMM...?

See now Marquez is interesting, because even for 37, he still looks like he has everything he had before... speed, combinations, timing, and most importantly a hell of a trigger, he doesn't hesitate.

My problem with this fight, is the weight that Manny will want the fight at.

Marquez looked great at 135 lbs... but he won't fight Manny at 135lbs.

They won't even fight at 140lbs.

And anything over 140lbs is total trash to me.

So JMM doesn't work for me either solely because of the catchweight that will be made.

Then you have a Cotto rematch... BS.

Floyd is out of the picture, obviously.

            Martinez?

            Wouldn't that be great?

Until they announce it is at 150lbs... Martinez takes the fight just to make the payday and the shot to knock Pacquiao off his block.. but martinez won't be at his best either.

He was what... 168LBS against Williams? Said he cant get lower than 156...

You know damn well ROach heard that, so of course they will pull him lower.

So again.. Martinez matchup does nothing for me either because of the catchweight.

Thats why I want a Berto fight.

At the very LEAST... he is prime, he has great speed, he has good power, and he will fight a dog fight if he gets pulled into it (which would make for good entertainment)...

He is also undefeated.. and although he has no great wins, just some decent ones.. like a past it Quintana, a razor decsion over Collazo, and a blown up Urango... He is coming off two great performances, two knockouts, just this year. That is something you were making a point in your previous posts, about looking good, going into the fight... So Berto would also have that.

Even if you think Pac wins.. and as a Berto fan, so do I... At least he would be fighting a young prime undefeated fighter that would be looking good going into the fight with Pac.

              why not?

Didn't evander holyfield benefit from all three?

              um, I mean evan fields.

I don't know man, hitting a bum like Hernandez with one shot and walking out with a KO isn't impressive to me. That really didn't showcase anything other than Freddy Hernandez is as big a bum as we all expected.

Believe it or not, I am not sold on the fact that Mosley is shot and I would like to see Mosley-Pacquiao. Call me crazy, call it absurd, but I think Mosley is a nightmare for Manny. He is sharp, fast, super crisp in his punching, and he packs a lot of power. I don't expect him to keep up with Manny for 12 rounds, but I do believe that he can win, even today. So does Roach, which is why Manny has not fought him, but opted for guys like Clottey and Marg, who are the opposite of Mosley. It's also funny that Berto found a way out of the Mosley fight. Sure there was a disaster, but did he really need to pull out of the fight? I don't think so. And since then he still has not fought Mosley.

Mosley isn't as bad as people make him out to be, I am still considering him to be a live opponent, but I could be wrong.

Martinez I would like to see, but that has less of a probability of going down than Manny/Floyd. Martinez really is too big and that is just unrealistic given the fact that he is as equally skilled as Manny, IMO.

I read that JMM was 144 on fight night this past Saturday. If that is true, I would have no problem with JMM/Pac at 147.

I am hoping for Mosley/Pacquiao, as crazy as that sounds.

                  It does sound crazy.

Especially after saying just 10 minutes ago... what opponent that Pac has faced has looked good going into a fight with him?

Well, you can chalk a Mosley fight right up there with the others that you so much despise.

Which performance was better? The 12 round broken trigger, flinching of Shane for the entire fight? Or the 12 round horrific... utterly horrific performance he put on with Mora?

Call Hernandez what you want... but at least Berto looked like he was alive and breathing.

Mosley will get the beating of his life if he faces Pac.

This is a fight where hindsight isn't required.

I can see it from right here.

                  Total and utter complete destruction.

This is BS. For instance JMM said Pac has fought come forward fighters and not boxers. Im asking is JMM insinuating if he was fed come forward fighters like Cotto, Margarito, Clottey, JMM would pulverise them like Pac did?

If you cant do what Pac does how can JMM or Floyd or anyone criticise? Come forward fighters might be made for JMM and Floyd as well. But they stillcouldnt do what Pacdid.

Pacquiao has good skills. He has speed, quickness, footwork.

I do think his last six opponents were past prime or one dimensional. He really beats them up, which is why he gain fans.
