In the second round Margarito had Cotto on the ropes, he closed the distance much earlier than expected.

Between Roach and Pac's ability with his feet, I just can't see Margarito pinning Pac up against the ropes as much as he did Cotto. And Margarito doesn't open up as much in the middle of the ring, especially with Pacquiao all over him.

I know Pac went to the ropes against Cotto, but he did that willingly. He and Roach know you CANNOT do that with Margarito.

The fight will come down to, in my opinion, whether or not Pac can use his legs to circle and move laterally for the vast duration of the fight. I think he can, and I think Pac will do a lot of body work himself that will slow Margarito down a little bit, a la Mosley, cause Pac throws a straight left to the body that will land where Cotto throws hooks that Marg picked off with his elbows.

I am really way more open to Tony winning than I was say, a month ago, but I'm still going with Pac.
I basically see it similar to Dwyer in that Pacquiao will backup to the ropes and when he does, he'll find it hard to get off because Margarito will be swarming him with punches.

As Pacquiao showed in the Cotto fight, Freddie's gameplan doesn't always go according to plan if Pacquiao doesn't adhere to it. Cotto is a bigger single puncher than Margarito, so I don't think Manny made the calculation before going to the ropes. I just think Manny loves to scrap and won't just become passive become passive because of Margarito.

I don't see Margarito letting Pacquiao fight in the middle of the ring and if he does, I can see him still being effective. But to win he has to put Pacquiao on the ropes.

Pac can use his legs to circle for a lot of the fight, but even he needs some rest time. The Williams fight told me just how suffocating the pressure can be.

I factored in Williams' 7-8 inch disparity in height and 12 inch disparity in reach to basically make up for the difference in Pacquiao's explosion and speed. I also see Margarito being able to hit Pac easier than he did Williams.

Margaritos power shots against Cotto is questionable? Not saying he was loaded but the damaged on Cotto face leaves a BIG QUESTION MARK?

Question I have to you and everyone else...

Make your comparison of the damage Marg has done Pre hand wrap scandal and Post hand wrap scandal (Roberto Garcia on May of 2010). This determines how much power Marg will have come Sat. and by the looks of it considering the Journeyman Garcia wasnt that badly beaten up, Marg power is suspect.

I hope you enjoyed watching all those fights again if not you just wasted a lot of time.

Pac will keep Cheato in the middle of the ring you are underestimating Manny's movement and overestimating Cheatos ring generalship.

Cheato will respect Manny's power as soon as he gets hit with one of those Hatton bombs. Again you are understimating Manny's power and Cheatos defense.

Cheato will try to swarm Manny, he will get countered and when he finally gets his slow ass punches off he will be hitting nothing but air.

This will be a one sided beatdown and I'm glad Cheato is in top shape so he'll last a few rounds. Manny by devastating KO in 5.

Basing your decision off of Cotto's face is absurd. Cotto got hit 130 times by Judah and left with a busted, swollen lip, cut eyebrow, and swelling on his eyes. Margarito hit him double that and hit him continuously in his face with the hardest punch in boxing (the uppercut).

I'm not going to get deep into that argument, but I'll leave you with this:

What fighter that knows he's cheating and has some **** in his gloves takes his gloves off inside the ring? He did it for Cotto, I know I wouldn't take them off until I got in the locker room and if I even think about wanting to take them off, my trainer would stop me before I could. Guess who took off Margarito's gloves.

margo is a walking punching bag dude. he's way too slow.

I never said Tonys gloves where loaded, I said it looks questionable considering the damage that was done to Cotto.

Im basing Tonys power off Pre Scandal and Post Scandal.. Pre Scandal Tony has had a number of TKO's and KO's was he loaded during these THEIRS A POSSIBILITY...

Post hand warp Scandal Tony has fought Mosely which was a L and Garcia which was a UD..

Again, was Tony loading before he got caught I would honestly say their could be a possibility but consider his last two fights I am without a doubt questioning whether he even has solid power..

Pac doesn't move on defense. Look at any of his fights, when he's being punched he just stands there with his hands up, whether he's standing in the middle of the ring or he's on the ropes.

Tony's gonna rake him to the body, arms, and his uppercut is gonna pop his head up all night.

Good ass OP Queloque, you almost sound all profeshunal and shit.

I honestly don't know what's gonna happen in this fight because I see it as a 50/50. On one hand, I see Pac pulling a David Diaz type of fight. Lots of in and outs, stepping to the side out of danger and keeping Margarito turning. On the other hand, Margarito will be going forward despite being hit unlike Diaz. Can Pacquiao take the pressure? Mosley held Margarito ALOT to prevent him from going forward with momentum unlike Cotto. Pacquaio NEVER holds his opponents. Can Pacquiao pull a Cotto type backwards fight and be more successful? A lot of questions that I don't think can be answered until the fight. We all know what Margarito does and can do. We just don't know how Pacquiao will react and take it to dish out his stuff.
