I'm with U Que,Margarito is a really big, strong pressure fighter,I haven't seen Pacman face a guy that doesn't wilt & has loads of stamina!!Just look at his 3 welterweight fights!!Oscar fought like he belonged in a Romero film!!Cotto could dish it out but couldn't really take it!!Clottey expects to win a boxing match by keeping his mitts glued to either side of his dome!!What's gonna happen when Margarito walks through everything Pacman throws at him & connects with his shots??& for those that keep on bringing up Mosley,Pacman doesn't pack Mosley's type of power, real talk!!

I really don't see it in all honestly. His chin also hasn't got that aura that it once did, and he has also had alot of inactivity, add to this his flat footed style along with his slow hands and leaky defence. Against Manny's speed, power, & timing it just dosen't sound good for Margarito.

Pacquiao can very possibly get hurt. However, if Margarito ignores Pac's power, he might be in for a rude awakening. Pac can hurt with weird-angle punches that can't be seen or anticipated.

Anything he did against Williams is kinda pointless under the circumstances Williams doesn't fight like Pac, nor is he as fast or as powerful.

Cotto lands three or four but Margariot would land one hellacious body shot and back Cotto up....

Cotto got the best of him early but the body shots started to wear him down and eventually ended him......
I definitely caught that after analyzing it for the first time, but I haven't watched it in a few months. Those body shots really do get lost in the shuffle unless you're really watching close.

Margarito landed a few body shots and then landed a huge body shot in the second that doubled Cotto over and forced him to exchange for the rest of that round. He landed at least 5-10 body shots in every round and could do the same in this fight, but if he wants to make it a lock he has to take a Segura approach and throw nonstop body shots to make sure Pacquiao has 0 legs by the last 3rd of the fight.

If he did that against a Margarito who comes out looking strong and purposeful it would be remarkable, but I'm open to that as a possible outcome...maybe Manny really is that superhuman.

For my part, I just meant it's ****** to act like the Garcia fight is telling, or to talk about how Garcia walked through a high number of punches or bulled him around at points as if Manny can do the same.

For me, it comes down to what Margarito has left and his last fight wasn't enough to fully guage that. Margarito appears to have had an ebullient, productive camp and to be getting himself in good shape, but that can be misleading if the fighter is already irreversibly deteriorated - there are certain things in a fighter that no amount of hard labor in camp can bring back once they're gone.
One thing I think I have fully convinced myself of is that Tony was always naturally pretty heavy-handed as a welterweight and that illegal advantages weren't anything to do with the hurt he put on Cotto or earlier opponents. I look at Pacquiao's smallish welterweight stature, how tender his face has looked even after dominating in his last two fights, and conclude that, for all his resilience, he can't afford to get hit much against Margarito. Not least because Margarito builds momentum the more he hits you, you can't allow him to get a foothold.

If Pacquiao is exchanging firepower instead of just dispensing it, he's in trouble.
I agree, all good points there.

Pacquiao's tender face at 147 is another factor because if he starts swelling up or gets cut, I don't see him handling that all too well.

The more Pacquiao can avoid exchanging, the more he can delay the avalanche of activity that will come in after Margarito gets his foot in the door. The problem is I see Margarito's pressure forcing Manny to throw over 70+ punches per round. Which will get him countered and eventually cause him to slow down.

Manny has excellent stamina, but even he needs a rest to analyze his opponents. Margarito will try his hardest not to give him that luxury.

at the description of his opponents. They're true though. Margarito will be almost the opposite of all 3, except he can dish it and take it. Pacquiao doesn't have the strength to hold Margarito as much as Mosley did either. What will Pacquiao do with no rest period? We'll see.

Do you see Margarito getting Pac up against the ropes as consistently as he did Cotto?

In the second round Margarito had Cotto on the ropes, he closed the distance much earlier than expected.

Between Roach and Pac's ability with his feet, I just can't see Margarito pinning Pac up against the ropes as much as he did Cotto. And Margarito doesn't open up as much in the middle of the ring, especially with Pacquiao all over him.

I know Pac went to the ropes against Cotto, but he did that willingly. He and Roach know you CANNOT do that with Margarito.

The fight will come down to, in my opinion, whether or not Pac can use his legs to circle and move laterally for the vast duration of the fight. I think he can, and I think Pac will do a lot of body work himself that will slow Margarito down a little bit, a la Mosley, cause Pac throws a straight left to the body that will land where Cotto throws hooks that Marg picked off with his elbows.

I am really way more open to Tony winning than I was say, a month ago, but I'm still going with Pac.

The problem is that I've seen Margarito take huge blind shots he didn't see coming from big punchers and not even blink. Not only that, but Pacquiao won't have as much power as he usually has because he has to punch upward. It's the same reason why Oscar said Manny didn't have any power.

The Thread didn't put into consideration that Pacman received hard punches from his past opponents such as Cotto and Clottey!

Pacman indeed took hard Body shots and uppercuts! from these ex Champs and yet went on to deliver his own counter punches with power and Speed!

The key factor here is Speed!
