Yet for all this talk of "plaster wraps", not only was there never any plaster wraps, but there was also no plaster on the gauze pads.

      Double fail.

The problem with this reasoning is that Capitello admited that he had placed the wrong(hardened illegal) pads. He admited the mistake. He stated that they were hardened pads used to protect the fighters hands when hitting bags with sand. The testing was only to validate what was already known that that there were plaster elements. Hell you got a confession on the pads. Why argue that point?

Waterproof plaster is a variation of Plaster of Paris, its not as simple (chemically) as pop and considering only 2 chemicals were found on the gauze, its not likely some sort of waterproof plaster was used.

Either way my point isn't that he didn't use plaster-like substance or that it wouldn't help, rather, just merely pointing out the fact that its not like he had casts (which is what plaster of paris on gauze is) for wraps. They probably used some sort of calcium substance (may be as simple as ground up calcium pills) to make the wraps denser/heavier. Not exactly bricks but enough to do extra damage especially with Margo's volume punching.

He's either bush ******, grossly irresponsible and arrogant or cheney sly and evil. Either way, the responsibility is his. He needs to stop his whining, the sniveling sod.
Awesome post, N!! Haha...right? I'm not a boxer but i would imagine you get used to how your gloves feel that you can tell when something changes. Tony says he's going to start paying attention to his wrappings, instead of "zoning out"

WTF?? Lol! What boxer zones out just before one of the biggest fights of your life? I would be alert and adrenaline pumped up, stretching and moving around...FAR from "zoning out...good God. And "zoning out" were Margo's words...what's he do take a nap? Lol.

You don't concentrate on your upcoming match? Are you focusing on your trainer (who's wrapped your hands thousands of times) or playing through your gameplan in your head?

How are you going to try and argue the the wraps were not hardened, when Capetillo himself admitted they ware hardened and would do more damage. Did you even bother read the whole story you posted?

From the article you posted: Capetillo did acknowledge that the hardened pads would do more damage had they not been found by the commission.

He mentioned nothing of what you say, which makes perfect sense, maybe just a poor use of words as usual from margo and camp..."zoning out"...means "spacing out or kinda out of it."

He shouldn't have used the words zoning, he looks worse every time he opens his mouth. He should let his lawyer do his talking, but it seems he's not done a very good job, else if he was innocent he should have no problem getting his license back, right?

he knows capetillo puts the pad in his wraps, but he doesn't know what capetillo has done w/ the pads.

                  Is marg:

                  a) ******? probably.
                  b) irresponsible? maybe
                  c) arrogant? yes
                  d) cheney sly? no, too dumb imho
                  e) evil? who isn't?

a boxer needs to trust his corner to do right, a boxer can't focus on every little detail otherwise he'll be distracted.

Here is an interview on youtube with Margarito saying " I felt good for the Cotto fight.. we had the right wraps " etc etc

What other boxer in history has ever thought about his "wraps" when thinking about a fight from his past???

He might not be the smartest dude from Mexico.

All boxers use those little rolls of gauze over their knuckles. This whole suspension was over a non issue. Its more of a technicality than anything else. Under csac rules its an "infraction". Which is like getting a ticket for driving without a seatbelt.

wrong you need to educate yourself son.
