And movie theater sales would count in the closed-circuit revenue, not the ppv revenue........

here is a fact:
puerto rico has a population of less than 5 million
phillipines has a population of close to 100 million
if there was a buy rate for the phillipines, im sure it would be more for pacquiao than what puerto rico generated for cotto...but being that the philippines isnt part of the U.S. or its territories (puerto rico is a u.s. teritory), the philippines is not part of the U.S. PPV numbers
Problem is though that the average income in the Philippines is somewhere around $200 a month, so all 100,000,000 people would end up splitting a single ppv.....
Puerto Rico on the other hand has average monthy wages of $2100 or so, so obviously there is more disposable income there.....Last edited by OnePunch; 05-08-2010, 07:04 PM.

Cotto's a b-side opponent according to the article? That B-side opponent added about 500000 more ppvs compared to pacquiaos fight after against a real B-side opponent.
Why does every article compare the pac-cotto fight to the may-mosley fight and often refer to it as pac's last fight? He did fight Clottey not too long ago you know..
Mosley isnt as big a draw as Cotto is

I agree that it was close to 100K PPV buys in Puerto Rico. Sounds like it was a Floyd nuthugger who said 600K PPV buys were from PR when Cotto fought Pacman. Pacman did 1.2+ against Cotto, Floyd did 1.2 (and possibly 1.2+) against Mosley... 50-50 is the only way to go and whoever between the two doesn't accept that will be the ***** ass punk....

clotteys never been on a ppv before, mosley has. Mosley and cotto are comparable stars whove been on multple ppvs, Mosley actually has been on more than cotto.
If you want to compare clottey/manny ppvs, then compare floyd/baldomir. Baldomir and clottey are probably equal in terms of buyrates.
