Is not Paul Williams is overrated. Is that Martinez is just really underrated. If P-Will was fighting Spinks, Clottey, or Pavlik Pavlik P-Will would of had a much easier time.

Everybody who was calling Martinez a bum was just blind to Martinez skill level. Sergio is the truth he has very good skills. People somehow didn't notice that. Williams is still a monster he is not vulnarable. He will would beat and give anybody he from 147-160.

IMO this fight did not "expose" Paul Williams. To me this fight just prove how talented Sergio Martinez. Martinez would of beaten anybody from 154-160 tonight. To me Williams he is P4P tonight by winning this fight.

Tell me another fighter who would have done as well against PW tonight. You seem very high on yourself with regard to boxing knowledge. I'll agree that B.S. has a **** load of dumbass fans, but you seem to be sitting right there with them. You're focusing on PW's flaws (namely his defense) and glossing over all of the attributes that make him so dangerous.
        Wrong.

I'm focusing on what P.Will has actually accomplished. He beat an old Winky, lost once against Quintana, and gave Margarito a tough fight.

Martinez put on a good show and I give him a ton of credit, but in the place where I come from... reality, just putting on a good show isn't good enough to make you "World Class".

Mosley would've given the P.Williams that showed up tonight hell if Mosley went back up to 154. I'm sure Pavlik has the power to put P.Williams to sleep where Martinez didn't.

I don't judge fighters based on performances, I judge them based on accomplishments. Any one can look good against a blown up light weight (Floyd....) and P.Williams certainly did not live up to his overrated expectations as a monster who froze 3 weight divisions and the most feared man in boxing.

I don't even understand your line about performances and accomplishments.
What exactly does make a fighter "world class" in your home state of "reality?" I'm really interested in how you assess this. Listen, I don't think PW is the best fighter in boxing, but I do acknowledge, as most knowledgeable boxing fans do, that this man's size, reach, stamina and work rate make him an extraordinarily difficult matchup for anyone anywhere close to his weight. Please tell me one fighter who is going to have an easy night against Paul Williams. SSM is my favorite fighter in the sport, but even I know PW will kill him. Shane himself has virtually admitted to the same. Pavlik has a puncher's chance, but I doubt he could match Paul's pace. A 90-yr old BHop outworked Pavlik for crying out loud. Even if Pavlik were able to beat PW, it wouldn't be anything close to easy. That is why fans consider him to be so dangerous. Certain fighters, because of their styles, pose specific threats to fighter's of a specific style. That is boxing. PW, though, because of the aforementioned attributes, poses a serious threat to just about any fighter in the sport; regardless of style.

                this thread is total fail.

i can't even believe you mention pavlik when kelly straight up ducked williams.

you're talking about judging fighters on accomplishments alone, and yet you create a new thread crapping on paul after his PERFORMANCE against a very tough sergio martinez. Man, you make no sense. If you're gonna judge on accomplishments alone, then judge it solely on the fact that Paul got the W tonight. But that's not what you're doing. You're cherrypicking (again). You're coming in and crapping on Paul after a tough outing against Martinez. You wouldn't be crapping on him if he'd KO'd Sergio in 1. So no, you're not judging on accomplishments as you're trying to claim, but you're judging on performance.

You trip over your own damn words.

he is definitely the most overrated boxer of our time. you can't call a guy the most feared or "the punisher" when he's the one getting punished and outclassed. there's no doubt in anyones mind he is a fraud.

I think he still isn't as overrated as Cotto, Dawson, and Clottey.
