Your comment is based on your hatred of Mayweather and nothing else. You assume that Mayweather will be the difficult one in the negotiation process and you have no evidence to support this theory. I guess you forgot how demanding and difficult Pac's people were in the Cotto and Hatton negotiations. Either that or you weren't watching boxing then.

Pac's victory means nothing to Mayweather. Mayweather chased Cotto for two years at 140 when Cotto was younger and fresher and Cotto wouldn't fight him. And that was before he took the ass whipping from Margarito.

So, now that Pac has beaten a shot opponent that avoided Mayweather for four years, Mayweather is so scared he is pissing in his pants? I wil make my prediction now. Mayweather will beat Pac easier than he beat JMM and will KO him in nine rounds.

Or even comparing the revenues of the Pacquiao vs de la Hoya fight against the Mayweather vs de la Hoya match. Pacquiao is way too popular today than during those previous fights. With the methodical demolition of Cotto, Pacquiao has proven that Mayweather is not in any way at par with him as far as stature in the boxing world is concern. Larry Merchant has just said that Manny Pacquiao once was a "Zero to Hero" boxing personality, and now he's "Hero to Nero" - the Emperor of Boxing. With these, Pacquiao doesn't need Mayweather. He has made all his believers look like geniuses, and his critics look like fools. The only reason why the Mayweather vs Marquez exceeded the million mark in PPV was that it's a comeback fight for Mayweather, nothing else. Pacquiao can now retire and claim his rightful place in boxing's all-time greats.

No doubt that Manny is more popular today than he was before the fight with Cotto but as much as we know that the numbers are the only indication used to negotiate. Shaefer is doing excatly what any negotiator would do. When the Pacquiao-Cotto numbers come out then they can realy start talking and if those numbers are less that Mayweather-Marquez then they'll have to look at the reasons why it is so. As for Mayweather come back fight - that is still Mayweather. The Pac-Mayweather fight will sell because most people would want to see Mayweather being beat down by Pacquiao and that's still Mayweather. Pac is very popular and would likely sell a ton with any other opponent but with Mayweather the fight would sell three times as much.
