I personally prefer Ortiz style more, but Parker probably racked up the better wins. I'm not a big fan of Parker, but to answer your question, Parker.

when bearing in mind "skills", dont pay any attention to the highly skilled master boxer ortiz who was ko'd twice by a crude fighter with no talent. the same crude fighter who lost 12-0 to unskilled parker. these are just cheap subjective things that no one should pay attention to. what is not subjective is ORTIZ'S SKILLS!

no one wants to put in a vote for ortiz? maybe you are just looking up his tremendous resume and trying to compare it to parkers. its oh so close...

Who is greater? Meaning? Ortiz had a different background and prime, only recently has Parker "Jelled" to a level where he is able to be at his best. Ortiz came into the division this way and was subsequently undefeated... parker had a few losses on the way up, and is now at a place similar to when Ortiz entered the professional ranks.

Comparing them head to head, in his prime and twilight, Ortiz was a stronger fighter, with the caveat Parker may yet beat Ortiz out depending on these last few years.

The ignorance of the Op once again shows: He has no understanding of an objective comparison. He is essentially asking "what is better Vanilla of Chocolate Ice cream?" First of all, Ortiz dominated his competition up until facing Wilder... He did so with Charles Martin included, and actually fought well against Wilder in both fights. Parker has faltered in the past... So even if we play devil's advocate and say parker fighting Chisora and Whyte (essentially) makes a better victory than Jennings and Martin, Parker lost to Whyte. he also lost to Joyce, so in reality? unless one goes by subjective rankings, to say parker's record is better than Ortiz is a false conclusion.

            ****** thread...

I voted for Ortiz and what if Parker losses his next fight(s)? Ortiz only ever lost to two fighters and one of them (Ruiz) beat AJ! lol. Parker beat a shot Wilder, thats just the reality.

I reckon Ortiz got paid no win bonuses for a few fight even possibly when he got slept by Wilder.

                    Parker for sure.

Ortiz in my opinion hit the world level far too old.

He clearly did have skills, I mean even recently he was outboxing Ruiz in every round his only problem was being 50 years old and his legs going every time he got hit.

Ortiz really should have been around in the Wlad era, and he would have made an interesting opponent, skills, power.

But yeah by the time he fought wilder he was already old as ****. After seeing how close he came to stopping wilder in their first fight, I have to say an Ortiz the right side of 35 probably stops wilder.

As for Parker, I don't think he's as skilled as Ortiz, doesn't hit as hard.

But Parker is a workhorse, he got to world level at a young age, they have been tweaking his style to get the best out of him. Fast hands, tough, he's developing some veteran skills now.

Parker was subject to very dodgy officiating when he fought AJ, he also has to take some blame for his own laziness early in his career, but overall I see Joseph Parker as a dedicated fighter who has made the most of his talent, he's a very good fighter.
