I think the word you're looking for is "delusion": a false belief or judgment about external reality, held despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary, occurring especially in mental conditions.

As opposed to disillusionment: "a feeling of resulting from the discovery that something is not as good as one believed it to be."

The latter could certainly apply to how fans of Devin Haney might feel after he got exposed by "left hook only" Ryan Garcia.

We have all been speculating on this topic for months. It is good that a major promoter who has dealt with Haney has come out and publicly questioned his prima dona money demands. Right now, the money that Haney wants to be paid is ONLY available on one of Turki's cards and as Eddie rightly pointed out it would have to be a big, big fight not a soft touch come back because Turki likes big fights. So he is stuck between a rock and a hard place. He does not have a following of his own, so he has to kiss Turki's ring and fight someone dangerous - or else stay on the sidelines and drift off into irrelevance.

I hear you and I am of the same opinion. All I am saying is that Turki is the only promoter who does not have to make a profit on an event and can therefore overpay a fighter like Haney. Can he pay enough? I don't know. What I do know is that no other promoter will pay Haney a high guarantee that he demands because he thinks (or his dad thinks) he is a superstar.

I definitely see your point and agree with your entire post. I was just speaking out loud or rather questioning if Turki actually wants to over pay Haney at all. We know Turki has the hots for Bud, because we've seen them together at a few events and Turki himself has said that he's a big fan of Bud, but I don't think Devin is in the ins with Turki.

I don't think I've ever heard Turki speak highly of Devin. I also wonder what Devin is asking for as a minimum to fight anybody not named Ryan or Tank??? I guess we'll find out soon enough with his upcoming fight on BLK Prime. Will be interesting to find out who his rival will be and how much he's getting paid...
