Daniel Dubois quit after an orbital fracture and after he got knocked down by a jab, and look at him now. The question is whether he'll find the dog in him, or if he'll let a quit define him. He's got good skills, better than Espinoza if we're being honest, and power too. He just needs to answer whether he's got champion grit or not, and ESPN/Top Rank needs to stop hyping him until he actually earns it. The glazing on the broadcast was sickening.

A fractured eye socket is a pretty severe injury. I wouldn't call that a quit job. Ramirez is a very good fighter, but he's trapped at 126 because he's too small for 130. I'd like his chances against Nick Ball and Angelo Leo. Brandon Figueroa would be 50/50.

Tim Bradley has two modes: either he clutches his pearls and begs the corner to stop the fight to save the fighter, or its a pink slip fight and the loser has to quit boxing forever.

Espinoza was getting beaten up to the midsection and Ramirez was fighting too well defensively, Espinoza couldn't land anything. He started fouling to even the odds. Not totally unusual, but it was blatant in this case.

Regardless, Espinoza's physical advantages are what they are. I think he felt the fight as it was going was going to mean a loss and so he did what he did. I don't think anyone can fault Ramirez for stopping with a broken orbital bone and double visions, particularly with more than half the fight left. If anything it showed that he has a brain.

And thats fine if its inside the rules, to be as big as you can be for the weight if done right is being a professional gaining every edge you can get, its not a game its a prize fight winning and losing means a lot to a fighters career.

Good article, there's definitely a path back for ramirez if he goes on after injury. You would give him a good chance against anyone else in the division if he comes back on good form

If he calls it a day he's still had a decent career, great amateur and world champ in the pro ranks.

it was not a feeding frenzy on Robi it was just a gut reaction to a fight, and you can not tell if you have a fracture until there are x-rays done so it looked like the guy was done and it looked worst when he turned and threw up the hand. And it sounded bad when the crew was talking about elbows in advance of the fight as if to protect him from any injury and force the ref and the crew to bring it up when it had not happened yet also just as a head butt can be brought on by how the other guy leads and leans into a opponent height and movement can be a factor in an elbow making contact. Why the rush to the rescue of Robi ? Let fans react how they react.........it was not a great fight nor was Robi's fight pro fight...
