The hate is pitiful and it clearly can’t be about the fighting becos the kid has and is showing the ability to fight anyone while most other fighters are posturing. Boots was the one who backed out of a great fight, Madrimov stepped in and pretty sure he’s getting paid handsomely and most will argue he is a better matchup than Boots, so what exactly is the moaning about. Folks love to trash them for their own reasons yet we are getting good stacked cards while pbc, tr, even golden boy give us 5 very little cache fights with a main card featuring their stars against no hopers. Who is tank fighting? Oh that’s right…still refusing to fight anyone who would give him that work.
Yesterday, this was a fight between Ortiz and Xander, no? What happened there? They "offered" him the fight.
However you feel about Canelo, Turki trying to strong arm or dictate anything to him was foolish.
I keep bringing it up, but the offer to Benavidez to meet Bud at 160. I seriously doubt Bud was on board with that.
Is that enough? Two things can be true. He can make good fights and be shady with some of his dealings.

Just like that, the fight is signed without drama or outrageous demands, But according to Curtis, Virgil's the villain trying to bully Boots into fighting him and now is demanding that Madrimov fight him with only 8 weeks to prepare.
It's only obvious that those were Virgil's intentions all along. Virgil should be ashamed of himself!!BrankoB likes this.

Yeah, Boots somehow didn't know about the fight being negotiated and chose not to pursue the fight. Xander challenges Virgil to fight, Virgil agrees. Turki apparently has a few names in mind knowing Boots doesn't really want to fight Virgil and decides on Madrimov. Madrimov tells Turki "put me in coach, I'm ready to play". Turki proposes the fight to Virgil and Virgil replies "F-uck yeah, I'll fight anyone sir!".

Take it up with his excellency cause I can guarantee he’s the one choosing the fighters
Ever think Madrimov couldn’t refuse the bag of money ???
Where else will he get that kind of money especially after his good showing in last fight ???

There ain't no question that Boots is the one lying. I watched his fight against Karen, because I'm a fan of Boots and saw him easily beat Karen. I paid close attention to his post fight interview and post fight conference because I was intrigued by who he might choose to fight next.
I clearly heard him say his mediocre performance was due to him not being motivated enough for the Karen fight and that his true form would be displayed with the tougher challenges. He also said that he was ready for the guys at 154 and Virgil's name was thrown in the mix.
Well now, according to Boots, my eyes and ears have lied to me and he was not aware of any negotiations with Virgil. Damn my eyes and ears, I better go to the doctor and get them checked.
I'm still a fan of Boots and will continue to be a fan because I think he's a talented fighter, but that doesn't mean I have to believe the bull s-hit he's pitching...BrankoB likes this.

Xander was one of the names, but because Turki wants a stacked card with big names, Turki decided to ask Madrimov(being a bigger name that Xander) and Madrimov agreed. When 2 willing fighters want to fight, the fight gets easily made.

That's Hearns's story, btw.
Like I said, the math ain't mathing on either end. If you feel like Boots should have jumped at the opportunity regardless, then cool.
I haven't seen anyone - not Turki or anyone - refuting the 147 claim.

I'm pretty certain that the contract he has with Eddie is not as financially generous as the one Boots signed with Eddie. Boots can turn down a Turki fight and make somewhere around 2 million per fight with Eddie. Madrimov only made $750k to fight Bud while Madrimov was the Champion and the money came from Turki. Madrimov is trying to make as much money as he can while he still can.
