Maybe a contract wasn't officially sent, but a verbal offer was made. After all, he did offer up a Bud Crawford fight to Benavidez at 160, according to David. That's just as ridiculous as dragging Ortiz back down to a weight that almost killed him.
Of course somebody is lying here. Probably multiple someones, all on Team Ennis.

First, Eddie is 100% lying. It's literally in the rules that Ennis could take the fight at 154 without giving up his title. Ortiz and his promoters simply don't have the power to dictate that. That's a completely verifiable lie from Eddie.

Second issue is whether or not Ennis is aware of his own business dealings or not. If he isn't, he's an idiot. Otherwise, he's lying. They said, on video, that they wanted to fight Ortiz at 154, and there's nothing at all in the IBF rules to prevent that fight from happening, since he just satisfied his mandatory.

Third issue is who is lying about wanting the fight at 147.

      Think about that honestly.

      1. Is anyone from Ortiz' side likely to offer a fight at a weight that he's consistently proven he can't make and nearly died trying to make? Really??

      2. Who does it benefit, trying to have the fight at 147, when, again, Ortiz can't make the weight and would either be critically drained, or have to withdraw from the fight or at minimum pay a penalty to Ennis for a catchweight fight? Ennis is the only one who benefits from the fight being at 147. So why would that demand come from Ortiz?

Can you honestly say that it's more likely for Ortiz' side to make a life threatening mistake in the contract than it is for Eddie, who has already proven he is a liar about this fight, and, as you said, was willing to try to drag Benavidez down to 160, to try to shift the blame to the other side?

I wouldn't be surprised if someone wanted the fight at 147, but I am 100% confident that person was either Eddie, or someone from Team Ennis. And please, don't pretend anyone except Ennis cares about his trash email title.

Now that Boots is officially left out of the Feb 22nd card, I'm wondering who and when he'll fight next....

NOPE, not 1 ****ing bit of it. Email Ennis and his team offered Conwell a fight at 154 but Conwell turned them down.

Boots is one of the most mismanaged boxer around. He will have to take a page from David Benavides and forge his own path.

Even Boots father was on it according to some posters here.

                Ennis just ducked.

My gut feeling is that Hearn is telling the truth. Turki may put on good bouts, but he's shady in a way. I don't trust him.
Eddie talks **** the most and a lot of you don"t see through it.why tf would anyone think Ortiz can fight again at 147 after prev health issues that is bull****. Also Eddie himself said Boots needs to choose between fighting at 154 or droppinh 147 belt, so he knew offer was for 154.

                    A wise man once said

I'll make him an offer he can't refuse.

That mans name is Turki Corleone.

Turki makes fight quick for the simple reason, they make fighters a financial offer they can only dream off, way more in comparison to what their usual next fight payday would have been had Saudi not been involved. No shadyness we know they pay a premium, and are given a short timeframe take it or leave it deadline. Majority take it as the offers are too good to refuse.

I'm obviously very high on Boots and not really been following it in all honesty but I don't believe a word he says, no.
There is always something with this guy, always.
