Comments Thread For: David Haye: 'New Anthony Joshua would batter old Joshua in a round'

Anthony Joshua faces Daniel Dubois in an all-British IBF heavyweight fight this Saturday at Wembley Stadium. This will be Joshua's first title fight since losing his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk in 2022 after initially losing his belts to the Ukrainian a year earlier.

There is no "new" Joshua. Just a Joshua who has a bit of momentum because hes been keeping busy putting on solid performances against relatively weak opposition.

I do think he beats Dubois without too much trouble regardless.

Ddd might be Josh toughest opponent, time will tell. Josh last 2 wins were convincing, heleniusand jermain not so much

will be interesting AJ's reaction to getting punched back hard in the face, to be honest he has been in with non punchers and no bodies of late. Great matchmaking for him but at 6/1 had to have a few pennies on DDD stoppage

why are some these old boxers so dumb. Joshua fought Helanius and the mma guy. and has said few fights ago he isn't a 12 rd boxer. had mental breakdown in ring etc

Let's be honest here Joshua's current run is being blown well out of proportion.
              • Franklin coming off a loss and for a long while Franklin was the aggressor and AJ wouldn't push the action, despite Franklin being like 5'2 and a nonpuncher.
              • Helenius who's been iced by Duhapuas, Washington and Wilder and yet still he took him what 7? despite claiming his pension at the time.
              • Wallin a sparring partner who he'd done 100s of rounds with and it's well known he was dominate in them and Wallin can't crack an egg.
              • And lastly Ngannou who seemingly didn't even switch his style for AJ, he still had the slightly flared lead hand as if he's anticipating Fury's long lead hook to make way for the right hand.

It would be interesting to see AJ's reaction to getting punched hard in the face by himself!

I think this is lies. Joshua def looks like he has really found the right trainer. But you can't judge new Joshua until he has been in with better fighters. I think AJ will always lose fights because of his poor chin. But he will win a lot too.

That's why I think it's weird when people think a loss from him - means he should retire. If he is getting outboxed every fight - sure but even in the Ruiz loss - he really beat Ruiz up initially. Once he got caught it was over. Losing to Uysk is no shame. He would probably lose again now. He might have a chance if Usyk ages though.

All boxers are dumb when it comes to predicting fights. Look at all the boxers currently saying Mike Tyson will beat Jake Paul!
