I can’t believe I am about to type the next sentence.

    I agree with Dana White.

He said they should aggressively prosecute PPV theft/ illegal streaming. I can’t disagree. Along with this, the cost should be reduced in line with the quality of the fight.

Yes, many of these events shouldn’t be PPV and are extremely overpriced for the quality of fights on the card. That doesn’t give one the right to steal or illegally stream.

If you charge $80 for a Canelo v Berlanga level mismatch and a crappy card, you have to expect people will illegally stream.

PPV theft/ illegal streaming is treated like a lot of “harmless” white collar crime. Cracking down on it, combined with making the costs more reasonable, might stop rampant theft.

The entertainment industry has been trying to combat copyright infringement/piracy/bootlegging forever. It's a losing battle if you fight fire with fire. The entertainment industry wrongly believes that every single dollar they don't accumulate...is money that was guaranteed to enter their wallet. Some people stream because it's free/convenient, some because it's too expensive, some out of protest, some because there isn't a paid option available. The primary goal should be to convert the pirate into a paying customer through affordable pricing and greater availability.

Gotta agree with Algieri on this one, If Turki already losing money ,may as well not charge a PPV and make it free instead. Even if they actually lower it down to 20 bucks ,folks(pi****/tech savies)would still recur to illegal stream and just use money for food or drinks.

I like how the UFC shows their fights at a Local B dubs and at their Local UFC gyms. I remember back in the day my dad would go to a local Sports Bar to watch a PPV. Those places got fined and that sorta stuff died out. I think Boxing Promoters would benefit with Similar deals at Restaurants and bars.

Lastly, I remember when Top Rank would give you a rebate when you bought Tecate. I remember seeing other Chicanos and Mexicanos in line at the store with 30 packs at Stater Bros. Lol! Unsure why this stopped.

              $20 sounds great. BUT...
I've often said I'd buy a PPV if it wasn't 80 bucks. Figured Id buy it if it were only $20. Lot's more people will pay into the PPV than ever for sure.
However, once you open this box, you wont see most of the free fights anymore. Because most of those fights will also now be $20 bucks from now on. Greed will destroy this model and hurt boxing even worse.

It's pretty crazy to think that someone is going to put in the effort to become a boxing fan if they have to start off paying for the privilege of becoming a fan. It's bad enough that boxing is not straightforward like a league or a a sport that is easy to follow and understand. Boxing has a million weights , a million so called Champions of The World , different promotions that are like their own Kingdoms and separate from the rest of the sport. There's a serious learning curve for someone just getting into boxing to understand what's what and who's who . They're not going to pay around a hundred bucks to watch a fight , especially when they don't know anything about the fighters or why the fight itself even matters enough to come with a special pricetag. Like QballLobo said , HBO getting out of boxing really hurt the sport , same goes for Showtime ,and before that it was Network television cutting out boxing after the Mancini / Kim fight. Boxing just keeps shrinking . At least in the U.S , it's very much a niche sport now.

That said , the whole idea of Kings and Queens belongs in the dustbins of history , it's a shame that it still exists in this day and age. The French had the right idea with their guillotine.

We keep hearing about Turki paying these huge purses , but I've never seen or heard any concrete numbers. Do any of y'all have that information ?
